Weight loss without exercise on GLP-1's?

For me the meds take the mental resistance out of the picture. Diet and exercise become way less of a battle when the constant food noise quiets down. That's the real win - not the pill doing it all, but making the other stuff actually doable.

Exercise accelerates the composition side of GLP-1 loss but isn't the primary driver of the scale - the medication changes the calorie intake floor, and people who can't exercise still lose. The concern is that without resistance work, more of the weight comes from muscle. The gym component is most valuable in the back half of the loss phase when the deficit starts slimming lean mass faster than fat. For the scale question specifically: GLP-1s work with or without exercise, and the exercise benefit is best framed as protecting what you've already built.

Been strength training past two months, aiming to stay lean with some definition, not bulk. Just got labs: test 865, SHBG 90.6, free test 96.3. My numbers are already pretty high — am I crazy considering TRT? Seems like risks beat benefits here.

My work involves hiking uphill twice a week for miles, and over time my butt got noticeably perkier. Hill work is solid if gym weights aren't an option. Definitely hits cardio too. Consider checking your hormone balance especially around 40 - mine tanked with perimenopause. Protein is key since I lost muscle on round one. Heavy resistance is what shapes glutes, not just stretching.

Protein is key, plus some weight-bearing stuff - lots you can do at home without gear. You've still got the muscle underneath, just got buried under the weight. Building back up starts today.

The low yield in 3 months usually traces to evening eating offsetting the suppression - the night snacking is the variable, not the exercise absence.

The medication quiets the hunger noise - the calorie deficit is still what drives the loss. Exercise determines body composition more than rate. Most people lose well without structured workouts, but some resistance work preserves muscle while the deficit runs.
