Weird Sweet Cravings on GLP-1s?

Okay, so I've always been more of a savory person. Chips over candy, appetizers over desserts - that's me. I'm on 5mg of my med, about to bump up to 7.5mg. Food in general? Not appealing AT ALL. I'm forcing myself to eat, but seriously, I'm just not interested in anything... except ice cream. Now, that's ALL I want! Where is this coming from?! Anyone else experiencing strange sweet cravings?

I remember reading that sweet cravings can sometimes mean you're dehydrated. Maybe try drinking more water? Increased thirst is a side effect of these meds, might be worth experimenting with before you dive headfirst into the ice cream!

This is happening to me too! Except, for me, it's dried apricots, lol. I have a theory that our bodies are trying to trick us into eating more since we're eating so little. I have some breakfast, a protein shake for lunch, and try to eat a balanced dinner (protein, carbs, veggies). I've noticed my cravings are less intense when I make sure I get enough nutrition. Just my thoughts!

Yes! This totally happened to me too. It's bizarre because I've always been team savory. Now, I'm craving sweet stuff. So weird.

Sweet cravings may indicate some mineral deficiencies. Maybe try adding a multivitamin or specific supplements. Seafood is also usually rich in minerals. It might be worthwhile to get your iron levels checked too.

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions! I will try upping my water as Jordan51 suggested and adding some supplements. I am also so disinterested in cooking, I could easily see myself getting nutrient-deficient.

I have definitely had to rethink my whole relationship with food. It's less about satisfying hunger and more about getting nutrition. Healthy food makes my taste buds more sensitive now.

Just a thought, for those of you who also use cannabis: I've heard the 'munchies' can sometimes overpower the effects of GLP-1s. It's like the cravings break through, even when you're not really hungry. So it could be something to consider if you're using both.
