When did food noise quiet down for you?

Hey everyone! I had my first injection yesterday. I'm super curious when you all noticed a change in that food chatter. I know it's different for everyone. I feel like it's *slightly* better today, but could be wishful thinking!

It took a couple of weeks for me to really notice it. I'm about 3 months in now, and I still think about food a good bit, but it's nowhere near as consuming as it was before starting on the medication.

During the first week, I mostly wanted water. Then, the second week is when I saw a drop in the constant desire to eat. I'm about at the 3-month mark myself, and this just changed again; I have almost ZERO desire to eat now.

Strangely fast for me too, @BusyCookie. I experienced the food noise quieting down within days of my initial injection of the medication. It wasn't *totally* gone but the constant thinking about food felt like regular hunger instead of a 24/7 obsession.

I've read that these meds impact appetite and dopamine in the brain, so it makes sense that lots of people see reduced cravings pretty early.

Well, I just did my fourth injection at the lowest dose, and the noise is still there, but lighter. I think part of the thinking about food is just the need to actually plan and think about what to eat. My feeling of fullness comes and goes. I often feel like I *could* eat more, but I'm forcing myself not to. No bad effects so far though, so I'm happy. I'm hoping the food stuff improves as my dose is increased.

That's great to hear, @ReconClean! A normal hunger signal is actually kinda nice. Mine has decreased a good bit lately. I'm hyped to see how it goes over the next couple of weeks.

I've also noticed a shift in *when* I feel hungry. Before the meds, I wouldn't want to eat until noon or 1 PM. Now, I get really hungry in the mornings – like, painfully hungry. It's strange because I thought it was supposed to decrease appetite, not make it worse in the AM!

I'm with @Scale_Girl722, my eating times have shifted a lot too. Before starting this, I'd eat around noon. Now I'm hungry at like 5 pm. It's all messed up, but I'm eating less overall.

Maybe try a protein shake to hold you over until your usual eating time? Extra protein is never a bad thing.

Something I've noticed is that I don't save the best bite for last anymore. I used to save the most flavorful bite for the end of the meal. Now I eat it when I want it, because there's a good chance I'll get full before I finish my plate!
