The coworker moment where everyone turns out to have been doing the same thing quietly is a common experience. The stigma of admitting it makes people hide something that clearly works. There is something shifting in how open people are getting and these conversations seem to accelerate it.
 
The decision about who to tell is more personal than most weight loss topics and there's no single right answer. Keeping it between people who actually need to know is a completely valid approach. The results speak for themselves to everyone else.
 
Being open about it is a valid choice and the stigma framing is worth pushing back on. These medications have the same evidence base as blood pressure or cholesterol medication - the selectivity about which chronic conditions deserve treatment is worth questioning.
 
the general medication privacy framework is the cleanest way to think about it - you don't explain what blood pressure meds you're on to people who notice your reading improved, same principle applies here. making it about the results rather than the method is both honest and sufficient
 
Not exactly keeping it under wraps, but also not announcing it everywhere either. My doctor knows, my partner knows, and random people online know too. If someone asks how the weight's coming off I mention eating better and moving more, with a GLP1 supporting it. Happy to answer more if people have follow up questions.
 
Genuinely curious who everyone here has actually told about using this class of medication. Close friends? Parents? A spouse? Kids? Coworkers? Your prescriber? Or keeping it entirely to yourself?

Personally only shared it with a small handful of close friends. Before even starting on this, had already dropped a solid chunk naturally through my own effort. Since adding reta a couple weeks back, another small amount has come off after being stuck in place for half a year beforehand.

That is honestly part of why I stay guarded about sharing, don't want people hearing the drug name and assuming it erased everything I had accomplished beforehand on my own.
