I'm a woman, a bit younger though, but landed in the same spot. Good job, spouse, kids, homeowner, all the outward markers checked off, yet weight's always been my struggle, and only during an anorexic phase did thinness happen for me. Wasn't healthy or happy back then either, but somehow that felt sufficient at the time.
Eight months in now, down over 40 lbs, doing better on every front, body and mind alike.
Biggest piece of advice, find a therapist and dig into your relationship with food (plus whatever's underneath driving it). Really glad I put in that groundwork before starting sema and kept at it throughout.
Was anxious initially admitting I'm on it, but I've opened up more the past few months. Took real work realizing this isn't about laziness, my dopamine system genuinely doesn't function right (also neurodivergent) and burnout had become constant. Nobody blames someone with cancer for needing chemo, or a diabetic for needing insulin, so nobody should judge people whose bodies need a glp-1 to function properly either.
