This is exactly what got noticed right away too, the quiet. Never realized how much mental space food was taking up, what to eat next, what to grab after work, whether the vending machine was worth a trip, along with all the guilt and justification that came with it. Exhausting, fighting the urge not to eat junk, giving in anyway, bingeing, then feeling awful afterward. Always assumed one day the guilt would finally be enough to stop the cycle, but that day never arrived. The internal battle stayed too intense and chaotic, and giving in to a binge was really the only thing that shut it up. Genuine food addiction, and every round of that fight ended in a loss.
Somewhere in the opening couple of days on this medication, everything just went silent. No more internal battle. Food finally became a basic need instead of an emotional reward.
