Food on my mind 24/7?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Yeah, thinking about food all day is exhausting—what to eat, how to handle parties, tracking, saying no when you're still hungry, avoiding break room donuts when stress hits... it's mental weight loss never lets go of. Most people can't sustain that forever. I've even met people post-surgery who gained it back.

You'll gotta eat fewer calories than you were eating. That's the honest part. This stuff just helps us actually do that. Everything else follows from that one thing.

Port Charlotte options are limited - online tends to be the main resource for people in smaller markets. Most of what you need is here anyway.

The absence of food noise as a concept before starting is a really useful baseline for understanding what the medication actually changes. The speed and volume problem is a different pattern from constant food thought - the OP's mental occupation with food without hunger is almost the opposite of what you're describing. Did the medication change the eating speed or volume at all?

The shift from food taking up mental bandwidth to just... not is one of the things that's hardest to explain to people who haven't experienced it. Cookies in the house without thinking about them is such a specific marker. The OP's description of food occupying every thought is the before, and what you're describing is the after.

This was such a revelation for me too - finding out other people didn't have their whole day organized around food. I thought I just lacked willpower. The medication turned off that constant background noise and I finally understood that it was a physiological thing, not a character flaw.

First day on Tirz all I could think was, so this is what a normal relationship with food feels like? Completely mind blowing. Also genuinely irritates me looking back at all the people over the years who commented on my weight with zero clue that our brains and metabolism just weren't operating the same way. Their easy, casual approach to eating was simply their own reality, clearly never mine, until Tirz fixed that. These medications really are something else.

That's a fair point. Probably time to explore something else. Don't think my current provider is offering much beyond just managing my mood swings through a pretty heavy medication load.

Buddy, right there with you! Just started ozempic myself too, so a couple things.

That old appetite was really just a dysregulated metabolism talking. It's not normal to suddenly crave an entire bag of candy right after a full healthy meal. Fullness hormones are supposed to kick in once food hits your system, but for us they only ever fired for massive sugary stuff, never for healthy meals. I'm barely five feet tall and sit around 220 pounds. Wasn't about wanting that volume of food, my brain simply wouldn't quiet down until it got exactly what it demanded.

Congrats seriously! Ozempic gets your body finally acting like everyone else's. That's why a chicken salad will actually leave you full now. Hard to trust that after a lifetime of proof otherwise, I know, been there too.
