GLP-1s & my liver's like, YES!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
That's wild how similar our experiences are! Ultrasound also cleared my liver, which was a big relief. Would love to stay connected and see how your medical team approaches this. Could swap what we learn along the way?

amazing you're losing so steady on 2.5—that's you doing the work with the meds as backup. you've got room to move up. don't stress about worst-case stuff. it happened to me at 15mg—stopped losing and hunger came back. had to start exercising even though it was rough.

stopped working doesn't mean plateau and regain though. i don't see evidence of real weight comeback once dose is maintained. it hits a set point and holds there. the set point seems dose-dependent, and low-and-slow doesn't match the trial data on upper limits.

Lipase elevation is worth flagging because it can precede pancreatitis even when symptoms are absent. GLP-1s generally improve triglycerides along with other metabolic markers, which is the typical pattern. The lipase piece warrants a direct conversation with your prescriber.

Triglycerides from 141 to 74 alongside the glucose drop is the full metabolic picture - the combo getting those numbers in six months is a strong result.

Wow, thought my own liver numbers were solid, but that's a massive improvement on your end. Huge percentage drop there.

Great work, and thanks for posting this!

Started at 260, first reta shot mid-April, sitting at 198 today. Beyond thrilled honestly, but got labs done recently and my liver numbers came back way elevated, AST and ALT both high. Follow-up appointment today after a course of NAC and TUDCA. Could just be my liver playing catch-up with 60 pounds gone in under three months, hoping it settles soon. Gallstones blocking ducts is also on the table.

Thank you, really appreciate the kindness. Just got discharged from the ER, apparently my liver's working overtime clearing out fat, and the doctor sent me home with a prescribed antispasmodic medication.

Curious whether you had any comorbidities going in, prediabetes or fatty liver maybe? And where does that stand now?
Congrats on that incredible progress!

Blood sugar, long-term sugar average, blood fats, and cholesterol all moved in the right direction on tirzepatide, eight weeks in now. Honestly can't point to anything that's gotten worse.

A few things that were already off just stayed the same, didn't budge either way.

Biggest shift is glucose, dropped from 106 to 83, which I think moved me out of borderline pre-diabetic territory into normal range, feels like a genuinely big deal on paper. Lowest that number's been in years, going back through labs to 2019 when it sat at 98 and I was thirty pounds lighter and in noticeably better shape physically than now.

Been taking a diabetes medication for years purely for longevity purposes, so I never got close to prediabetic. A while back I started on the first compound to shed some weight. Worked well for a stretch. Then switched over to the second compound and it performed even better. Now at maintenance I'm combining a modest amount of the second compound with a modest amount of the fifth compound. Kept the diabetes medication going throughout, naturally. (Plus hitting the gym a couple times weekly.)

A recent two-week readout from my glucose monitor came back describing tight, stable, metabolically efficient control, with minimal variability, quick post-meal clearance, and zero dangerous lows. The patterns pointed to excellent insulin sensitivity and strong metabolic flexibility. Across several mornings my fasting reading held steady in an elite low range without drifting. My swings after meals stayed remarkably tight too, well under what even healthy people typically see, and nighttime readings stayed impressively flat.

For what it's worth, my readout actually beat my partner's, who's also at their target weight and running higher amounts of both compounds

Yeah, my blood sugar control has been excellent on a modest amount of the second compound. Hoping for something similar with my liver using a small amount of the fifth compound, but I'll know more once I get imaging done in a few months.
