If simply counting calories and running a deficit were enough on their own, without the medication quieting mental noise or extending fullness, people would've already solved this through sheer calorie tracking long ago. I don't count calories in a strict sense myself. I just eyeball a portion and try to stay near it. I keep a rough mental note of the calorie count on things I order out and make protein a priority when I can. Started this back in January of last year and have been at my target since September. Started around 170 lbs at 5'2, now sitting at 117. Peaked at 189 at my heaviest. Lost some weight on a different medication before the pandemic, but gained nearly all of it straight back once I stopped. Never once formally counted calories on this drug class. That said, I recognize everyone's different. I've got a close friend, her daughter, that daughter's spouse, a couple aunts, my mother, and my own husband, every one of them on this drug class too. None of us count calories and every single one of us is losing. My friend's daughter didn't respond at first on one medication, then switched and started losing right away. All of us are simply paying attention to our food choices. When these medications are doing their job and you're actually tuned in to your body's signals, dropping at least some weight generally shouldn't be that hard.
