Low B12 on GLP-1s?

the B12 question and the food satisfaction connection is worth exploring separately - B12 deficiency can produce neurological symptoms including fatigue and altered sensory processing that might change how food tastes or how satisfying it feels. ruling out deficiency before attributing cravings to something behavioral is the sensible sequence, especially since correction is straightforward and the effect on subjective experience can be meaningful

Oh that's reassuring! Might be on a lower iron amount and definitely need more protein, that could explain it. Will give that a try, thank you so much!

Been taking Omeprazole daily alongside Semaglutide for around a year and a half now, just switched over to Tirz two weeks back, though that's kind of beside the point. My gastroenterologist had me on a daily B12 supplement after reviewing some bloodwork.

Well, my B12 climbed from 270 up to 1,792 pg/ml since February, and the normal range tops out around 1,100. My regular doctor's response was basically 'okay, let's dial that back.' I've been taking a widely available big-box-store B12 supplement, which delivers something like 200,000%+ of the daily recommended amount, since apparently absorption is so poor otherwise.

Honestly kind of surprised an oral vitamin actually moved the needle that much.
