But honestly I still feel big, still wearing large and 12-14 sizes. Now I'm thinking I need to get into the mid 130s to actually feel the way I thought this weight...

Insulin sensitivity - I think you meant that improves, though fasting without undereating does the same. Working to muscle failure at high frequency (4-5 day training splits) risks...
