Hey folks! I know some of you read my earlier posts about responder types and my initial month results. I wanted to share my experience as someone who's having pretty average results. Seems like we mostly hear extremes, so I figured a middle-ground perspective might be helpful. Especially for those just starting out, or those who feel a little 'meh' about their rate of loss. So here's my 10-week update. I'm a 31-year-old woman, started at 240.8 pounds.
- Currently at 222.4 lbs, so a drop of 18.4 lbs, averaging 1.75 lbs per week.
- I'm eating around 1300 calories daily, give or take.
- I focus on decent food choices – fiber, protein, etc. I'm not into labeling foods as 'good' or 'bad'. I just try to eat smaller portions of what I enjoy.
- I'm on 7.5mg and plan to stay here. My appetite suppression feels good and manageable.
- I get a little nausea or sulphur burps the day or two after my dose. Some Pepto usually fixes it.
- HUGE NSV alert! It's so much easier to make good choices. I'm hitting the gym early now. I used to snooze until the last minute before work (WFH life). My motivation is way up, plus I'm sleeping better from waking up early and wearing myself out. Gym six days a week, dog walks twice a day. Around two hours of activity most days.
At first, watching people drop weight like crazy was discouraging. But I've realized the slower pace is because I was already making pretty good choices, just struggling with consistency.
I remember a post about someone losing like 30 lbs in two months. Turns out they stopped drinking a bottle of wine every night after starting. Of course they saw massive results! Probably had a ton of inflammation.
I think my loss is slower since I was already somewhat active and didn't drink much. It just shows you can't compare your journey to anyone else's.
I'm trying to be patient with myself now. The time will pass anyway, and any progress is good. The big thing? I've lost weight before, but always gained it back because I felt like I had to be extreme and then would burn out. I don't feel that way on Mounjaro. I know what to do to lose weight, it just makes the right choices easier.
Hope this helps someone!
