A year on GLP-1s!

Well, folks, its been a complete revolution. Never thought I could stick to something for this long, but a year has officially passed! Yeah, there were some tough moments, but totally worth it. For a type 2 like myself, I'm officially in remission! My A1c? Dropped from a scary 8.6 to a cool 4.6. Used to inject insulin like 90 times a month, and now its just 4. Seriously, I feel like myself again. So proud! After those first few months, it became less of a temporary thing and more of a just how I live now. I try to eat healthy, like, 90% of the time. And my 'junk food' these days is probably what I considered healthy way back when, haha. Started at 209 lbs, and today I'm chilling at 126! Being 5'0, that's huge! Went from squeezing into a size 22-24 to rocking a size 4/6. Still got 10-15 lbs to shed, but man, does it feel awesome where I'm at! This community has been a lifesaver, so many thanks to all of you! Big love.

Holy cow, that's incredible! I'm 5'1", started this journey two months back at 278lbs, and I've lost a few pounds so far, got a way to go and your success gives me real hope. Its hard to picture myself thinner, ya know? Been overweight my whole life. Looking at your transformation makes it seem actually achievable. I've been studying your pics closely (not in a weird way, I'm a 50F!), mostly like, 'what do her arms and legs look like now?' because I can't imagine having slim arms and legs. And you showed me. Thank you so much, complete stranger! Feeling genuinely hopeful after seeing this. Thanks for sharing. ❤️

Wow, you look like a much younger person now! You're a true inspiration! I'm also 5 feet tall and started at 204 lbs. Currently at 135 and aiming to drop another 10 lbs or so.

A bunch of you are curious about loose skin. I was definitely wondering that too when I first started. A couple things about me: I smoke (I know, bad!) (trying to quit) and love catching some rays. I've made peace with the likelihood of having some loose skin and stretch marks. I've read that after a significant weight loss, it's best to hold off on skin removal surgery for a year or two, hoping the skin will firm up a bit on its own. Here's a snapshot of my stomach… hope it helps.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 🙏 🥺 🙏 🥺 🙏 🥺 tell me everything about your journey! Any tips, recommendations, suggestions? Recipes or exercise routines? I'm about to start my own weight loss adventure 😁

Hey StubbornFat83! I mostly just stuck to a calorie deficit, but tried to make sure I was getting lots of protein and fiber. I didn't really start exercising until maybe month 8 or 9. Now I try to get in a good walk 3-4 times a week, and do some light weights at home.

I saw someone post about their birthday and wanted to share my own experience - it's been a little over a year for me, and I've noticed HUGE health improvements. No more pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, or fatty liver. The back and knee pain I had (chronic, by the way) is gone and I finally feel energized and healthy! Down about 60 pounds and still going strong!

That sounds exactly like my own experience. I was diagnosed with type 2 years ago and always had trouble keeping things under control, even with meds. I finally found a doctor who listened and didn't just scold me, and it's made all the difference.

It really makes a difference when a medicine works! It is such a relief to know it wasn't just some inherent fault of your own.
