A year on Mounjaro!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Could be past the donut hole this year. January resets. Highly recommend 90 day refills if available technically 84 and with overlap you get five fills yearly.

It gets better. Eat some prunes or whatever works for constipation—that's the easy natural way for me. Getting your bowels moving helps a ton. Everything else regulates. Sucks for like 2 months but you hit a new normal. Heartburn mostly goes, and you can eat without feeling sick. First couple weeks are the hardest. And don't rush the dose bumps.

A year and 91 pounds is something worth stopping to appreciate. The Wegovy to Mounjaro switch is common when sema starts to plateau - a lot of people find the dual mechanism gives a second wind. How are you handling maintenance now that you're close to goal? I'm curious whether you're planning to hold the dose or see if you can step down while keeping the results stable. Either way, the trajectory you've built over twelve months speaks for itself.

Carrying significant excess weight comes with so many documented risks, gallbladder issues, pancreatitis, cardiovascular disease, several cancer types. Hard for me to picture the second compound's risks coming anywhere close to that in comparison. Given a full year with zero side effects, I'm planning to stay on my current small amount indefinitely.

Honestly can't speak to whether a higher dose opens the door for more carbs, haven't been on this long enough myself. Ran four doses at 2.5 and seven so far at 5mg. Since things are going well at this level, no plans to push higher right now. Already dealt with plenty of side effects and would rather not invite more.

Sat on 2.5 for half a year. The box just sat in my fridge for seven months before I finally committed and started on January 27th, 2026. Dropped about 15 pounds since beginning Mounjaro. Was already on metformin for type 2 diabetes before adding the injection. Combined total loss lands around 28 pounds. Strangest part for me, honestly think it killed my desire to keep seeing the guy I'd been involved with. So it basically curbed my appetite for both food and him. Curious if anyone else has gone through something similar.

BACKGROUND: I am 69 and 5ft 6ins. In my 40s I weighed 286lbs (20st 6lbs/129.7kg). Weight came off through a diet club, hypnosis, and then 4 years of intermittent fasting, so logging food and counting calories is second nature. Mounjaro began in November 2025 at 160lbs (72.57kg). By March 2026 I reached goal at 131lbs (59.49kg), and now I am 123lbs (55.79kg). My top dose was always 2.5mg because my food suppression is strong. For maintenance I take that 2.5mg once monthly, and hopefully I stop by year end. I eat out about twice weekly and walk briskly outdoors, 3 to 6 miles, each morning. A professional DEXA scan every 6 months tracks fat, lean and visceral mass accurately.

A higher starting weight doesnt call for a higher dose. It comes down to each bodys own reaction to the drug. Two people of the same weight can lose at different rates. My start was 325lbs and the results came right away, 16lbs gone within 30 days at 2.5mg. A sister in law of about my size saw nothing at all from Mounjaro.

Raising my hand here too. Quick background: I am 69 now, 5ft6, and back in my 40s I topped out at 20 stone 6, which is about 129.7kg or 286lbs. Tried a slimming club, then hypnosis, and the last four years I have been doing intermittent fasting, so tracking food and counting calories was already second nature. Started Mounjaro in November 2025 at 11 stone 6, roughly 72.57kg or 160lbs. By March 2026 I had reached the 9 stone 5 target, about 59.49kg or 131lbs, and I am sitting now at 8 stone 11, around 55.79kg or 123lbs. My appetite shuts off so hard that 2.5mg has always been my ceiling dose. Since March I have kept that identical 2.5mg dose but spaced to once a month for maintenance, and with luck I will be finished with it well before the new year arrives.
