Adding a splash of reta to tirz?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Both, honestly. Currently cutting while trying to hang onto as much muscle as I can. Running 8mg weekly of Reta, plus 5mg every other week of Tirz, works out to 10mg weekly on that one.

Reta's great, melts fat like nothing, but the hunger suppression barely registers for me personally. Tirz is the one that actually lets me get by eating just potatoes, chicken, some veggies, and the occasional bar or shake without a fight.

That combo's gotten me 3 pounds down weekly. Could probably push faster, and some nights I have to make myself choke down an extra bar plus a shake before bed just to keep from dropping too fast. Still, priority's staying on holding onto muscle.

Honestly this needs more context before a real answer's possible, starting point, current number, time spent on this medication, current pace, plus age, height, overall health picture.
Given significant obesity and already sitting at a fairly high weekly amount with zero side effects so far, the simplest move with the least friction is pushing that same medication further, since it's unlikely to introduce anything new.
Bringing in a second or third compound is possible too, but the case against doing that before maxing the first one out comes down to the chance of introducing fresh reactions. One particular option might not suit someone with existing cardiac concerns, since it tends to push resting heart rate up further.
Really hinges on what's actually happening right now, has progress stalled entirely at the current level? Does hunger or mental food chatter make staying under target calories genuinely tough? If the current pace holds steady and reasonable, going any higher may not even be warranted, dropping weight too quickly brings its own problems, though eventually reaching a workable plateau will probably call for a bigger amount regardless, and that's when layering in additional compounds starts making real sense if there's still excess weight to shed.

Yeah, people have shared their results here, myself included, but most of us are stacking with tirzepatide while the original question was specifically about retatrutide. That said, I'd guess the effects run pretty similar between the two. The two accounts that come up most often are from a couple of regular posters, and both, I believe, are also stacking with tirz.

Could be that reta users just aren't hitting the same stalls or plateaus that tirzepatide tends to bring on. The window for losing weight seems to stretch longer on reta compared to tirz. Are you already maxed out on your reta dose? If your current amount's sitting fine, might be worth titrating that up before adding anything else into the mix.

Some people combine tirz and reta to boost effects and cut drug-specific side effects, usually at doses under the max. In my case I got labs done on myself, checking whether it added anything. It didn't. YMMV

Been considering layering a third compound into my current dual-action routine and, if that goes well, potentially transitioning over entirely down the line.

For anyone who's made that switch (or currently running both together), would love to hear how it went.

Did you taper off the original gradually, or stop it cold before starting the new compound?

Assuming you eased into it, what did that schedule actually look like?

Any notable side effects, appetite shifts, or differences in weight loss worth mentioning?

Not chasing medical advice here, just genuinely curious about real experiences from people who've actually gone through this. Appreciate any input!

Happy_Fixed851 Me too, I got to 210 and crept back to 230 while pushing max tirz. Thinking about 15mg or more of tirz plus a little reta. Problem is, reta alone worked for a while but made everything feel weirdly flat and 'blah'. So I guess low reta with high tirz is the answer. It's basically an experiment.

Yeah, I'll keep reta as a fallback in my back pocket until the newer option is easier to get, should it come to it. Going above 15mg tirz wouldn't bother me if needed, tirz never gave me any bad effects and it's treated me very well.

Happy_Fixed851 In your spot, unless Tirz at 11mg gives you crazy sides, there's headroom left on the dose. We only added Reta after she stalled for two months or so at the top 15mg clinical dose. For what it's worth, my wife got a huge benefit from Tirz plus Reta together, and it really restarted the weight loss.

Reta has been well tolerated for me. 10mg of tirzepatide beforehand let me ramp fast. Three months on, Reta alone at 10mg, no tirz, and it's going great.
