Almost there! My experience so far

Shared my detailed experience elsewhere about the old injury and how much this helped with inflammation. The dark circles under my eyes faded and my scalp cleared up. Kicked in almost right away for me, maybe 1-2 days. I liked the anti-inflammatory effect from the lower dose so much that even moving to a higher dose, I kept the 250mcg daily routine, 5 days on, 2 days off, rotating every 6-8 weeks. Works great for me and I've tested higher doses without problems.

Same here. I was constantly flaring with symptoms every single night disrupting sleep. Mounjaro shifted me too far in the other direction, but adding adequate fiber and hydration has made me way more functional than I ever was without it.

My doctor's a GP up here in Canada but she was straightforward that this isn't really her wheelhouse so I've been doing a ton of my own research. That said I'm comfortable leaning on her because the whole process has gone smoothly so far. If things went sideways though I'd definitely ask for a referral to an actual specialist. Being an academic helps because I know how to dig into information on my own and actually understand what I'm reading.

Medication-induced weight gain as the starting context is so different from the standard story and the relief of finding something that counters it is real. The OP's journey going back to elementary school is a long time to carry that struggle. Glad it's working for both of you.

the dopamine and reward adjustment side catches a lot of people off guard because the framing going in is almost entirely about appetite and weight. realizing the medication is touching reward circuits for other things too is a different kind of adjustment. how long has it been noticeable and has it started to settle?
