Brain Boosting Protocol?

I've been thinking about a preventative brain health program for a while now, especially with concerns about TBI and age related decline. I'd love to get some feedback on my ideas. Here's what I'm considering:

* Once or twice a year, a 10-day course of something like Neuralyze at 60mg/day via IM. I'd hold off on other brain enhancers during this period and for a week afterward. Start slow, maybe 30mg for the first couple of days, to check tolerance. Heads up: this stuff comes from pig brains.

* Neurogen peptide, maybe 300-600 mcg SQ for about 2 months, could combine with another peptide.

* Some other peptide, 300-600mcg SQ for 8 weeks with or without Neurogen.

* A nasal spray, once or twice daily

* For something like CerebroBoost the dosage is uncertain, and sourcing is tricky. Maybe a 3-day/week protocol for a month or so, a couple of times a year.

* If you're trying to lose weight or dealing with metabolic issues, a tiny dose of a GLP analog, maybe once a week to three times per week.

* Red light therapy with a device designed for the brain, 20-30 mins/day.

* Daily sauna sessions, maybe with red light as well.

* A good curcumin supplement, daily.

* CoQ10, daily.

* A low-carb diet, plenty of omega-3s, aiming for ketosis often.

* A daily multivitamin.

* No alcohol!

* Maybe microdose nicotine, if that appeals to you.

* Consider melatonin or a prescription sleep aid if needed.

* Daily exercise.

* Daily reading.

* Daily prayer or meditation.

I'm calling this the BrainBoost protocol. Any thoughts or suggestions would be really appreciated!

You might want to look into the specific locations they use for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). It's often used for treatment-resistant depression, but since there's a possible connection between depression and Alzheimer's (both involving dopamine), it could be interesting.

It's very location-specific, so a panel might work if you already have one.

Also, there are specific parameters for red light therapy, and more isn't always better. Sunlight is a type of radiation with a limit, or you get burned. IR is similar. I've found that I feel exhausted if I overdo it. 20-30 minutes daily could be too much. I don't have my sources handy, but my experience was with lower frequencies and shorter durations.

You're totally right about not overdoing the photobiomodulation. It makes sense that overstimulation isn't helpful. There's a great YouTube channel with neuroscientists and neurologists who go deep into PBM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W09ZY0a-eJg

I agree completely about TMS treatments. There's a lot of potential there to create new brain pathways to compensate for damaged areas, especially combined with peptides like the ones I mentioned. It's possible to make significant improvements. We don't have to accept cognitive decline. Someone like Dale Bredeson is a great resource, I've definitely borrowed some ideas from him. He suggests photobiomodulation too.

Dementia runs in my family, and it's what got me interested in this stuff. Here are a few things I'm researching or taking that aren't on your list:

Methylene Blue (daily drops in water)
SS-31 (ordered recently, I'll be trying it)
MOTS-C (ordered; not stacking with other mitochondrial stuff)
Epitalon (ordered recently, will be taking it)
Vileon

I'm planning an SS-31, Neurogen peptide, Epitalon stack. All three for under a month. A few weeks later, I'll start Mots-C. I'll keep Methylene Blue going. I'm also taking K, a GLP drug, another research chem, NAD+, and tesamorelin.

I've asked about Methylene Blue here before and didn't get an answer. I'm very interested in it.

I haven't looked into vileon, but the others are on my list too.

I really like all of those too! I was just reading about SS-31 today. Looks promising. I'm not sure I know enough about methylene blue, but it's definitely getting some attention lately.

The good thing about methylene blue is that it's used in hospitals, so there's at least some clinical use there. Just make sure you're not taking any SSRIs or SNRIs while using it.

Great protocol! I've focused on brain health for ages, because of a TBI history.
I would add:
* mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (mHBOT)
* Lion's Mane
* Doing puzzles, even short ones, like logic puzzles
* Memorizing poems, or anything.

I'm planning on researching several things on your list during the summer, like the nasal spray options and CerebroBoost. I'm going to get some Neuralyze and glutathione with my next order. I've been trying to find a good priced source for CerebroBoost that doesn't cost too much.

My wife has been showing some signs of cognitive decline. She's being treated by a neurologist/functional medicine doctor who studied with Bredeson. I asked about Neuralyze and peptide treatments, but he didn't seem to know much about it. I found that odd, given how commonly Neuralyze is used therapeutically worldwide. As far as I know, Bredeson hasn't included any peptide therapies in his current protocol.

My original ideas are a few months old now. Did you go forward with the Neuralyze? I'm still wondering about the Chinese 60 mg vials of powder. I don't think they're really porcine protein. I suspect they're lab-synthesized, even though some people claim to have lab reports showing the same results as the real thing. The real deal should be manufactured in Russia, or come from China or India. These are liquids in glass ampoules, and the doses are much higher than 60mg.

I just started CerebroBoost a few days ago. I am on a lot of meds so I started lower. I want to see if it works before I try the Neuralyze.
