Check out PPS / Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium! I'm a huge fan. Look it up, it's an old FDA-approved medication for bladder issues. It's pretty safe, though it can thin your blood since it's related to Heparin. It's been amazing for my arthritis in my hips, ankles, back, etc.
They've used it for horses for ages, and more recently dogs too. It's in phase III clinical trials right now in the US and Australia. Even Rugby players use it. I get it through a compounding pharmacy and it costs me around $1000 a year. I can't take Aleve or Celebrex. It helps prevent cartilage breakdown and reduces inflammation. Some people even buy the stuff from equine supply stores! I keep mine refrigerated and do a shot every week. I had to stop it a few weeks ago for a surgery, and my arthritis pain came back like crazy. I'm glad I'm back on it. If you can afford it, look into it. I hope I own stock in the company when it comes to market! lol
