Coming off GLP-1s... anyone done it?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Pushed past the standard 15mg last week because appetite came roaring back. Did 17mg and that satisfied feeling returned.

Do it. I'm 52, five-eight, started around 215, menopause hitting hard, now at 175 ten months later. My arm skin is way tighter than expected. Nails are strong again too. Arm skin might be luck but getting strong nails back post-menopause? That's something I did by losing weight.

Hi, new here. Looking into GHK-Cu, thinking 2mg daily long-term. Some folks say zinc helps because of the copper content—anyone here using it? What's your dose if you are?

r/glpgrad is the right resource for tapering and stopping protocols - the community there has collected a lot of first-person experience that the clinical literature hasn't fully addressed yet. The cold turkey vs. gradual tapering question has a clearer answer there than you'll find from most prescribers.

The half-dose trial before stopping is a reasonable middle step - it tells you whether the side effect you're managing traces to dose level or to the mechanism itself. The insulin resistance concern at lower doses is real but typically much less pronounced than at therapeutic doses.

having both tirz and cagri available when stepping off sema makes a lot of sense as a safety net. the receptor difference means you're not just trying to cover the same mechanism again if things get rough. split dosing worked well for me as a transition approach too.

Appreciate the response! Something clearly needs to shift here, so I'll raise dropping to an even smaller amount with my prescriber while we look into other glp1 options together.

Facing a surgical procedure this week, and I was told to hold off on any GLP medication a full week beforehand. Asked why and just got told it's the standard recommendation. Not thrilled about that advice honestly, but I did cut my dose down by two-thirds to 2mg.

Quit the third compound entirely. Last injection was late May. Still know traces remain in my body, but already feeling fantastic, and expect that to keep improving as levels drop further over the coming weeks. Had a supply of the fourth compound too, tried it once, then chose to set it aside for good. Planning to give my body a clean month before reassessing, since I've got the fifth compound arriving soon, though honestly I have very little interest in restarting any GLP right now.

Separate from that whole category, look into amino acids like carnitine plus something that boosts energy and daily calorie burn, options like certain mitochondrial peptides and metabolic-support compounds. Feeling amazing on one already and planning to start the others soon.

Thank you for the message. I wonder if this gets better in the next weeks. For now I have begun a trial break with my GP: two weeks back it was 25mg and last week zero. I know it takes about 5 weeks for semaglutide to fully clear. I'm hoping for a calmer heart rate and more energy, and maybe I'll try working out alone again. If that happens I'd know for sure GLP-1 was behind it. After that, a switch to tirzepatide in some months is possible (since insurance actually covers that one).

Unsure and nervous about it here. Lowest dose for me, tracking my calories and macros so I eat enough (especially fiber and protein), plus lifting. My plan is a super slow loss with a super slow taper, building habits along the way. Getting off it and joining the success stories is the goal. I use tirzepitide/zeppound only because my new perimenopause sleep apnea is wrecking me and I would do anything to end it. Hope that helps?

A year on tirz for me, and I never went past 7.5mg weekly. I just reached goal weight and I'm stepping down now, 4mg last week. I thought about spacing the shots further apart, but decided to lower the weekly dose instead. Hoping to land at 2.5mg or so without the old stuff coming back: sore joints, inflammation, insulin resistance, high cholesterol and BP, and I want to keep fasting easy and cravings gone. Staying on GLPs for good doesn't bother me, I'd take that over statins and BP pills for life.
