Compounding Pharm Pricing?

Hey everyone,

1) Does anyone know roughly what a compounding pharmacy bills for tirzepatide? Like if someone takes 12mg weekly, what would a single dose set them back? Thanks!

2) Is the branded Zep the same price no matter the strength, or does compounding do that?
 
I think most compounding pharmacies don't sell directly. I use a provider and they get it from a compounding place. I'm paying around $80 per week for a 12mg dose, with an eight week supply. It's costly but I feel safer than buying peptides.
 
There are some online places that seem to be the lowest. They use a compounding pharmacy. You can get a single, or multiples at a time, now. Check them out.

That 'doctor' and 'pharmacy' are just trying to make $$$ by buying research vials, mixing them up, and sending them out. They're a 503A pharmacy with lower standards. Think of your local pharmacy mixing it up on the counter instead of a sterile lab. It's safer to buy vials yourself than use them.

Go with reputable 503B compounding pharmacies that have the ability to properly filter/sterilize, test and accurately dispense medications. They still buy raw materials but have the certification and facilities to do it right.

I don't like compounding pharmacies, but if you go that route, use medical providers with reputable 503B pharmacies. Don't use these fly-by-night outfits that take advantage of people based on price.
 
Thanks for the info! I've used both brand name and compounded versions. I haven't noticed any difference. Maybe it's just my body doing its own thing.
 
Not trying to be rude, but your questions suggest needing a consult from a doctor and pharmacy. Please don't hurt yourself. You seem confused about dosage and who the players are. I'm concerned you're going to harm yourself.
 
I appreciate your concern. I haven't changed from my doctor's prescription, except once. Even though she changed my dose, she kept the script the same. I take the 6mg strength. I think my doctor might not get GLP1s. So, I ask questions here to confirm what the doctor, pharmacy, and members say.

Thanks for your concern. I'm trying to find out how much my doctor marks up the price of my GLP1. If it's reasonable, fine. If it's a lot, I'll buy Brand Zepbound.

My doctor has a partner program with a pharmacy. I pay my doctor, and they call in my GLP to the pharmacy. It's odd, so I'm asking about it.

I pay $600 for this: TIRZ 3ML (6mg/0.5ML) inject 12mg (120 Units) weekly. Is that typical?
 
OK, I get what you're asking better now.

1. Yes. $600 is very expensive. 48mg (12mg a week) runs from $300-$400 a month from online sources. Those prices include the doctor's consult and the medicine, so it's hard to separate the costs. I know a doctor who says the bottom-tier online docs make $25 per consult.
2. No one knows what pharmacies charge doctors. We can see the raw material costs about $1-2mg. You're paying $12.50/mg
 
If you use teledocs, check they can ship to your state. They need state approval. Another option: send your script to a compounding pharmacy directly (if they ship to your state) and skip the teledoc fees. I like the idea of Red Rock but you gotta do your own research.
 
Thank you! I appreciate it. I hate when doctors have deals with pharmacies. That's why I pay my doctor instead of the pharmacy directly. It gives doctors a financial incentive to write more scripts. And I pay more for compounded than brand Zep! What if I didn't know this?
I'm not against doctors earning a living, but the markup needs to be reasonable, not more than the brand name.
