Crazy dosing schedule!

Okay, so I've been winging it a bit with my dosages and overfill. I'm on my last injection of the first month at what's supposed to be 15mg, but with the extra, I figure it's closer to 19mg.

Week 1: I injected 15mg, then an extra shot on day 4 (about 4mg).
Week 2: Same deal, 15mg, then an extra 4mg on day 4.
Week 3: I split .65ml into two doses about .3ml each, three days apart (roughly 9.5mg each).
Week 4: I'm back to about .45ml, and I'll add more if I feel I need it.

This week, for the first time in forever, it stung! Felt like I hit a blood vessel or something. I was lightheaded all day, like when I first started.

It's a wild ride, anyone else have experiences like this?

Dude, you're nuts! I actually had to LOWER my 7mg tirz and 6mg reta combo recently because I couldn't keep anything down - just puking after eating anything bigger than a playing card. I'm down to 5mg of each now just so I can eat something!

I haven't come across any research that shows anything above 15mg is really necessary. Splitting that dose might be okay, but going way over 15mg probably isn't going to do much extra.

Where did you read studies about splitting dosages?

And what's the rationale for saying that dosages above 15mg per week “doesn’t provide much”?

There's a whole bunch of folks here doing higher doses. I'm bad with names, though.

I might try splitting doses. The problem is, I hate wasting the last little bit in the vial. There's always .15ml that's impossible to get out. When you get to around 10mg/.5ml, it's worth trying to use.

I'm intrigued by stacking tirz and Reta. What made you decide to do that, and how did you start? Why do you like it better than just sticking with one?

Ugh, I hate trying to get the last drop! I guess it's a knack you learn over time. I add a bit of BAC and try to suck it up as best I can. Saving it for a future injection.

So, I was up to 7mg of tirz and starting to get hungry again by day 5. I tried splitting the dose every 5 days, but still hungry (I'm a food addict, lol). Then I found this stuff and bought some reta. I thought instead of splitting the tirz, I'd try splitting tirz and reta. Appetite vanished, and weight loss went crazy fast, without any hunger at all. I haven't felt actual hunger in months.

I eat an apple, orange, or banana every day, drink a protein shake, and eat a small piece of protein. I don't really focus on my diet, don't count calories, just eat like a normal person, I guess.

I like how I feel splitting those two, and I have a lot of each, so why not? I'll probably try to use just reta to maintain when I hit my goal this summer.

Yeah! I should do a tutorial on sucking the last bit out, but I have important stuff to do. [thumbs up emoji]

Don't keep that stuff for too long. Heard it's not a great idea.

I hunted high and low for info on the higher-dose study, but all I found was a vague title about dosage variations. If you have a link or remember where you saw the 17.5/20mg figures, let me know!

I saw it on reddit, in the Zepbound group I think, but I can't find the link now, and I didn't save it. If I find it again, I'll post it.

What starting dose did you use? Wow, you went up fast! Were you not getting results on lower doses? I started low, and I only lost 3lbs this month, so I think I need to go up! I'm still just at 1mg.

Congrats on your weight loss! I feel like I might be headed in a similar direction. The idea of trying Reta is getting stronger. But I want to give tirz a fair chance since it's been good to me so far. If it's still working, there's no reason to switch. I'll re-evaluate in a few months.

I started around February last year with four 2.5mg Mounjaro pens, at like 330lbs.

I just kept going up based on the EL study. Nobody ever said, "Stay at the dose if it's working." It stopped working, or slowed down, so I just kept increasing it. Now I'm at 267lbs this morning. [thumbs up emoji]

Maintenance is the big question. It sounds like some people are finding it tough. Someone on Reddit hit their goal weight and is worried about how to maintain it. I guess it involves figuring out your diet and exercise.

Maybe it's worth discussing the timing and frequency of dosage adjustments with your doctor? Rapid cycling might not be a good strategy.
