Customs Crackdown?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
The variability in customs outcomes depending on origin warehouse is genuinely unpredictable and seems to shift without much warning. The OP's question about whether others are seeing this is the right thing to be tracking - patterns across multiple people's experiences are more useful than any single data point. Whether it's a policy shift or random variance is hard to tell from the outside.

Just shipped some sample vials out to a testing lab overseas today, US to Central Europe. Yeah, customs concerns were definitely on my mind.

Issue is that Temu, likely the largest Chinese retailer shipping into Europe, set up warehouses locally specifically to sidestep customs friction. Meaning far fewer parcels will be crossing directly from China going forward. Could end up affecting us too, since customs will have a lighter overall load to inspect.

Placed a decent sized order Friday too, hoping it clears without hassle. Asked for the package value to be declared a bit higher this time, figuring that might smooth customs processing. Two anxious weeks ahead.

The initial order I placed from overseas got seized by customs. Got a full refund eventually though, and placed a new order through a different source afterward.

4/10, order placed and paid for, two products.
4/13, got shipping info.
4/14, told they'd switched carriers because of a high seizure rate with the usual one.
4/16, message came through saying the usual shipping route was suspended, so available channels had narrowed and pickup was running slow, package was apparently sitting in a regional hub waiting for pickup, expected to arrive roughly five days after that.

Like an absolute idiot, I used my actual home address for this one. Yeah, I know. Just hoping this second attempt at a first order doesn't get seized too. Send good thoughts my way. So tired of paying $70 a vial for the third compound.

Update on my end, turns out it didn't really pass through inspection the way the tracking claimed, and the seller had assured me it did. Ended up shipped straight back overseas. Guess I've landed on some sort of list now. What great luck for my first go at an alternate-source order. Their rep, after a fair amount of nudging, finally put in a request to get my money back, which I do appreciate. Hoping that comes through so this whole saga can be over. Might need to step away from ordering internationally for a bit.
