I'm not taking Mounjaro anymore; haven't been for a bit. I stopped being consistent around July '24, and completely stopped in the autumn. I reached the max dose of 15 mg.
The biggest thing in losing the weight and KEEPING it off was changing my whole lifestyle. I had already started exercising BEFORE starting Mounjaro and upped it when I started the injections. I began with a bike at home and Apple Fitness+. Then I started going to the gym and doing weightlifting and strength exercises.
I made HUGE changes to how I eat. I was consistent with eating right and exercising. I was in the gym somewhere between 3 and 7 days a week - either a full workout or even just 20 mins on the bike at home.
I haven't gained any pounds since stopping Mounjaro. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the past, so insurance approval wasn't a problem.
MAKE SURE YOU TRACK YOUR PROGRESS WITH PICTURES! The photos really motivated me. My weight on the scale would bounce around (water, muscle building, constipation, etc), but my weekly photos showed my progress, from slight changes to major ones!
You can do it! It takes time, patience, honesty, real change, being consistent, and determination. Give yourself some grace along the way too! I hope sharing my story encourages someone!
