Hey everyone! So, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance last year and started on metformin. Then my doc switched me to Saxenda, and I was on 1.8mg for about 9 months, but she didn't feel I was progressing enough. Even though I'd already dropped around 13 pounds, she put me on Wegovy. I was 192 lbs in June, and now I'm at 170 lbs! That's a 22 lb loss in only 3 months. I see her again at the end of Sept, so fingers crossed! I did have some side effects at first, like feeling full really quickly and some nausea. The first week, my stomach was a mess and I threw up. It happened one day a week for the next couple weeks, but that's been it. I started at 1.0mg. For Saxenda, I started at 208 lbs and am now 170 lbs. Almost a 40 lb difference! 💖

I've lost about 7 stone, which is like 100 pounds! Still have about 35 pounds to go, but I'm getting there. My starting weight was 300 pounds and now I'm down to 200! I'm 5'8". Making healthier habits has helped me tremendously.
That's amazing! Congrats on the progress! It's so encouraging to see others succeeding.

been off almost two years. some days food noise is loud but trained myself better habits now. stomach smaller, fill up faster. eat slower helps. kept weight off even lost a few past my 135 goal, at 125 now. started almost 200.

Never carried a huge amount of extra weight, just an extra 10 kilos or so that made my frame look thicker than it was. My doctor sent me to a dietitian first. Worked with her for a full year with nothing to show for it. Eventually asked whether weight loss medication might be worth trying. She agreed and pointed me toward a doctor who specializes in that. Things have gone smoothly since, 10 kilos down in seven months on wegovy.
What mattered most for me was that the dietitian route got a genuinely honest shot and still didn't move the needle. I've built solid eating habits under her guidance, but my body just resists losing weight without extra help. Now I've got two health professionals actively involved in managing this with me.

My wife dealt with all of that too, only a couple periods yearly, elevated testosterone, and insulin resistance. A physician started her on a compounded version of tirz before I even knew unregulated sources existed. Ran it roughly half a year, and while she only lost about 20 lbs, it genuinely helped normalize her cycle and eased her insulin resistance to the point she got off metformin completely...
Eventually had to discontinue it, somewhere north of nine months back at this point. Our first baby is due any day now, so caution won over risk and she stopped ahead of the birth. She's already mentioned wanting to resume once breastfeeding and the whole newborn phase wraps up.
