Down 70lbs - now what?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
the 10 lbs after a long hold at goal weight is one of the most stubborn spots on the whole journey. sometimes the dose that got you there just isn't enough to push the last stretch, and a small bump rather than a full overhaul is worth trying first. what does your doctor think is driving the stall?

Never making it to the full dose and still achieving the result is the high receptor sensitivity story that explains why some people stop at 2.5mg and hit goal while others need 15mg for the same outcome. The OP's 70 lbs and what's next is the question that comes after reaching the dose efficiency ceiling. What does staying at the minimum effective dose look like as a maintenance plan?

The reduce-your-dose suggestion at 80 lbs down makes a lot of sense - the medication often keeps working at a lower level once the body has adjusted. The 70 lbs in the OP is a big milestone and the 'now what' question is the right one to be asking at this point. What does maintenance look like as a goal?

Do it, OP! You'll keep leaning out over time. My lower stomach pouch never fully vanished but I've held steady at this weight for well over a year and it's noticeably improved compared to where I started. Feel totally comfortable showing it off now.

27 lbs down so far. Caught sight of myself in the mirror yesterday and could actually tell I look smaller, though that lower belly pooch is still hanging around. Shrunk some, but I've got a feeling it's going to be the very last spot to fully go. Read somewhere that weight tends to come off in reverse order of where it went on.

Sixties here, and I revised my goal weight four separate times. After the last one I stepped my dose down, bumped calories using a TDEE calculator, and added light lifting. Ultimately the goals were irrelevant, since my body chose its own resting spot regardless of dose or calorie changes. 46% of my weight is gone, BMI 21, and I've held within 3lbs across eight months. Surprise bonus: my abs are visible, but that also let me spot a noticeable lump low on my belly, left of center or right, whichever. My doctor says it's a hernia that needs surgery. It isn't painful right now, and I'd never have seen it without losing enough to see muscle.
