Hey everyone, just wanted to share that I finally accomplished my big goal: I've dropped about 36kg/80lbs! WOO!
I started on a GLP-1 back in August of '23, starting at 0.25mg and going up to 1.0mg. Then I switched to a different brand around February '24, going from 1.7mg to 2.4mg. I'm still at 2.4mg, but my doctor thinks I'll eventually be able to maintain on 0.5mg or 1.0mg. We'll have to see how my body responds.
I try to eat healthy most of the time thanks to the reduced food cravings. I follow the meal suggestions my nutritionist gave me during the week, and I'm more relaxed on the weekends. I still go out with friends, have an occasional drink, and enjoy sweets sometimes. Also, I began working out regularly around the time I started the injections. I used to go to the gym 3 times a week and do mostly cardio, but now I go 6 times a week – 4 times for weightlifting and 2 for cardio. I create my own workout plans using online resources to save money since I had to choose between a trainer and a dietitian. I typically do full-body workouts or concentrate on specific muscle groups.
My highest weight was around 104kg/229lbs, and now I'm down to 68kg/149lbs—and I've never felt better! I can't remember the last time I weighed under 80kg/176lbs. My health has improved so much. My blood pressure is normal now, my hormonal issues are gone (which was my primary reason for starting), my fatty liver is gone too, and I'm no longer pre-diabetic. I even went on a hike recently with friends, and I was amazed at what my body could do.
I'm incredibly grateful for everything that's happened in the past 1 year and 7 months since deciding to do this. If I had to complain about anything, it's that I think I lost some volume elsewhere
, but if that's the cost of a healthy body that I love, so be it!
