Down 80lbs! Woot!

Hey everyone, just wanted to share that I finally accomplished my big goal: I've dropped about 36kg/80lbs! WOO!

I started on a GLP-1 back in August of '23, starting at 0.25mg and going up to 1.0mg. Then I switched to a different brand around February '24, going from 1.7mg to 2.4mg. I'm still at 2.4mg, but my doctor thinks I'll eventually be able to maintain on 0.5mg or 1.0mg. We'll have to see how my body responds.

I try to eat healthy most of the time thanks to the reduced food cravings. I follow the meal suggestions my nutritionist gave me during the week, and I'm more relaxed on the weekends. I still go out with friends, have an occasional drink, and enjoy sweets sometimes. Also, I began working out regularly around the time I started the injections. I used to go to the gym 3 times a week and do mostly cardio, but now I go 6 times a week – 4 times for weightlifting and 2 for cardio. I create my own workout plans using online resources to save money since I had to choose between a trainer and a dietitian. I typically do full-body workouts or concentrate on specific muscle groups.

My highest weight was around 104kg/229lbs, and now I'm down to 68kg/149lbs—and I've never felt better! I can't remember the last time I weighed under 80kg/176lbs. My health has improved so much. My blood pressure is normal now, my hormonal issues are gone (which was my primary reason for starting), my fatty liver is gone too, and I'm no longer pre-diabetic. I even went on a hike recently with friends, and I was amazed at what my body could do.

I'm incredibly grateful for everything that's happened in the past 1 year and 7 months since deciding to do this. If I had to complain about anything, it's that I think I lost some volume elsewhere 😂, but if that's the cost of a healthy body that I love, so be it!

Happy to answer any questions anyone has! Let's go! 💪💕

It's so inspiring to see everyone achieving their goals and feeling better. I really hope that health insurance companies will start covering these treatments for those who need them, especially people with obesity or other health issues.

Congrats! That's awesome. I'm curious, how many times did you hit a plateau, and how long did they last? That's all I want to know.

I'm aiming for about the same weight loss. Down about 60lbs since June, maybe 20 to go. You look great! Much love ❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾

I need this in my life fr 🥹 I started at 319 and now I’m at 209, but my weight keeps fluctuating, and it's so frustrating because I also deal with gut issues and PCOS, which makes everything harder 🥲

Did your new eating plan involve a significant reduction in calories, or what specific dietary shifts did you make to achieve these results?

Excellent work by the way

I feel like some of these medications give better results than others! Are they all the same, just different brand names?

I'm flying next month for the first time since losing about 45kg! I'm so excited I won't need an extender belt now. That was always so embarrassing.

I totally get it. Just getting started is the hardest part.

Hi ThinQuest928, I reduced my calories a bit, but the biggest change was the *type* of food I was eating. I focused on lean protein, lots of veggies, and complex carbs. I also cut back on processed foods, sugary drinks, and excessive amounts of unhealthy fats. Also, portion control is now much easier. I found myself getting full faster.

Congratulations! What was the highest strength you used? Of the first medication you took?
I'm curious about this too. Knowing the dosages helps understand the journey better.

It's amazing how the little things change. I went to walk up two flights of stairs, and realized I used to avoid them because I would get so winded. Now, no problem!

ozempic 2 years, lost 65 which i'm happy with. hit a wall, need another 20 to exit obese. switched to mounjaro, month in and up 5 pounds. appetite higher than ever. finishing dinner and wanting more, never happened before. compounded version. what's going on? anyone switch between the two?
