Down eleven notches!

Just wanted to give a little update on my journey:

In roughly a year, I've managed to shed about a quarter of my starting weight - around 75 lbs. My daily blood sugars are looking great, and my last A1c check was around 5.9.

I started at 285 lbs and I'm currently hovering around 210. I did stall for a bit around 225, but my doctor bumped me up to the highest dose and that seemed to get things moving again.

Haven't had any diabetes-related issues since starting. I'm really looking forward to when these kinds of meds are more widely available so more people can get the same chance at better health.

Best of luck to everyone!

Way to go!

I had to trim about an inch off my belt a while back, and it looks like another couple inches are going to need to go this week.

I really need to get some new clothes, lol!

Great job!

That's so funny, I do the same thing! I think I have a size 54 belt. When I bought it, I was barely on the first few notches, and now I'm using notch 12 or 13, depending on the day! Great job!

Great job-Classic example of eating more to stoke that fire? Metabolism gets going again and we loose weight!
The moment I plateau, I eat more!

That's interesting. So, when you stalled and bumped up the dose, did you tweak your diet or exercise at all, or was it purely the medication that got you going again?

I'm down about 50lbs after a year and feeling great. My clothes fit better, I feel better, and I can shop without worrying if things will fit. It's an amazing feeling!

Did you change your diet and exercise routine in addition to taking the medication?

Saw someone else online talking about their journey with similar meds. They had PCOS, insulin resistance, and a bunch of other related problems. They dropped from 235lbs to 169lbs since starting, and they're even getting a tummy tuck covered by their insurance! It's awesome to see these meds making a real difference.

Wow, that's amazing. I also have PCOS. I wonder if losing weight will help with the androgenetic alopecia I developed from it years ago...

side effects hit me same day—exhausted, slow digestion, sulfur burps. scale only dropped 2lbs after a week and a half but I'm optimistic it settles and the results show in a month.

did you get the pots diagnosis confirmed? if you do have it you can still exercise just gotta find what works for your specific situation. the water weight thing is real btw. but that disgust feeling worries me more. please find a good therapist to talk this through.
