Easing off the dose... anyone else?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Yeah, titrating from 15mg down to 3.75mg over that period is actually really good to hear. The step-down approach gives you a read at each level on whether appetite stays in check before dropping further. How did appetite track through each step?

7.5mg and past your original goal at 3 months while still losing is a good problem to have. The taper down conversation makes a lot of sense at that point. What did your provider recommend for the step-down protocol?

My long-term blood sugar number went from double digits down to something close to normal. Just had fresh labs done yesterday, waiting to see where things land now. Agree with the folks suggesting you space the dosing out, maybe try stretching to somewhere between a week and two weeks apart, see how that feels first before going longer. Like most of these meds, the middle of the cycle tends to hit hardest side-effect-wise. Since I'm basically where I want to be on both weight and bloodwork, my plan is to stay at the same amount but slowly stretch the interval out day by day until I find a rhythm that holds steady. Try to push through if you can manage it. It really is a great medication, but there's definitely a learning curve to figuring out what works. Hang in there!

If your doctor's on board and you're diabetic, might try stretching to a ten day gap first, then moving to fourteen if your A1C stays stable. Definitely run it by your doctor first though.

Had significant side effects at the 10 mark and tried pushing through for a rough three months hoping they'd fade. Unfortunately they never did, so dropped back down to 7.5. Only regret is not making that call sooner.

Why does everyone keep using it? Guessing you just wait it out if the max dose doesn't do anything? Pretty unsettling honestly.
Only taking it for diabetes myself. It's killed my appetite completely, and now three shots in at 2.5mg with 10lbs gone, I'm constantly hoping my hunger comes back. Wanted to quit at one point, but it's genuinely helping the diabetes so much.

Still holding at a lower dose after the better part of a year, down a solid 40 lbs. Tapering off it now. If weight loss's the only goal, staying at that dose makes sense. No real reason to go higher.
