Exercise on sema? Help!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Stagnating at 2.4mg since July is a long plateau. The exercise question and intake tracking are worth running down first before assuming the dose isn't doing anything. 2.4mg is the max approved sema dose so the options from here are usually dose timing, tracking tightness, or switching compound. What does daily intake look like right now?

I'm on the fourth compound. So far, so good, zero side effects. Probably helps that exercise and a vitamin routine were already part of my life beforehand. Just kept that same routine going, and honestly everything feels totally normal. Only two days in though. What are you taking? 10lbs sounds solid, are you hitting the gym too? Tell me everything.

Running Apotex Semaglutide at 0.25 mg! :) Taking a daily multivitamin plus fish oil, lifting three times weekly with 20 lb weights and squats, and doing cardio or stairs the remaining days. Also staying on top of protein intake. Genuinely recommend tracking down a protein powder that actually tastes good, makes a huge difference on low-appetite days or after tougher workouts.
That 10 lbs came from a mix of the medication, training, and smaller portions. Definitely noticing longer-lasting fullness and way less snacking, plus inflammation easing up. Hoping this pace holds steady for both of us!

Are you working electrolytes into your water each day? I know things are hectic for you, but even squeezing in a short walk could help, morning or after dinner works either way. Even fifteen minutes counts, or have you tried any resistance training at all? Don't throw in the towel. Keep pushing forward alongside the medication, I've watched so many people succeed on this same drug. Most of those wins came slow and steady. You're twenty pounds lighter, not heavier, so clearly something's working. Stick with it. Whatever short-term hassle this causes is worth it for what you get long term.

Quick update. A couple weeks of tinkering later I think it's sorted. Low carb is what works, and very low at that: even 5g near a workout gives me a rebound hypoglycemia episode. Eating basically zero carbs (except a bit in nuts or veggies) means I start exercising at 80-85. I've been checking my sugar by finger stick each quarter hour. Usually I dip to about 70 at the 15 minute mark, then climb again and end up in the 90s. So my guess is my liver recalibrated but takes a while to start pumping out glucose. Good reason for very low carb I guess, I just don't tolerate carbs well.

I'm on week 8 of Wegovy, lifting three days weekly with heavier weights each week. A bit of light cardio too, but muscle gain is the focus (with 79 lbs still to lose, so recomp is possible, adding muscle as fat drops). I can't say if it'd affect your marathon ability. Before lifting, I did around five miles a day on the elliptical and it didn't bother me, yet I've had zero bad side effects, so yours may differ. Anyway, the shot has a one week half-life, so if it interfered you could lower the dose or stop and miss at most a couple workouts before it clears. Low stakes compared to the potential benefits.

Month one on sema wiped me out, I was glued to the sofa. Your body is just adjusting, so expect improvement. Can't promise your energy gets back to pre-medication levels, though that hinges on how steep your deficit is. One thing from my own routine: fruit before a morning workout used to be fine, but on sema I had to leave more time for it to settle.

Watch out with lots of cardio, HIIT especially, since it can raise hunger even on sema. Blame cortisol. My deficit is about 400 to 600 under maintenance, depending on whose math. Once off the medication, I hope to hold about 200 under maintenance forever, as a bank for weak workouts, overshoots and life. I lean on strength training, LISS and NEAT, and volume eating became a learned skill. The rest, YMMV.
