Finally feel like I'm winning!

tons of people stick with a maintenance dose. when food noise creeps back off meds, just drop to whatever keeps appetite and weight stable—no one-size-fits-all number. some taper slow, others find a middle ground. it's about that sweet spot where you maintain without side effects or regain.

The combination of T2D and feeling dismissed by doctors for years makes the breakthrough feel even more earned. Blood sugar control that finally sticks is life-changing. Glad you're winning this one - keep going.

Cucumber and celery are clutch when hunger is weird. Quest chips taste normal too unlike some protein snacks. Those are lifesavers for salty cravings.

The rotation of low-demand foods makes early adaptation easier. The goal is staying consistent, not interesting - smoothies and eggs carry the nutrition without the volume.

T2D control that what feels like forever never delivered landing in a few months on GLP-1 is the cardiovascular and metabolic case for the medication that goes beyond the weight loss. The blood sugar improving before the scale has even moved significantly is the mechanism working the way the clinical trials showed it would.

Low blood sugar at the start before you've established lower carb intake is a real issue specifically for T2D patients - the medication plus any existing diabetes meds can drop it further than you want. Did they adjust your other diabetes medications when you started? That's usually what needs to happen first.

The nausea-when-hungry pattern is interesting as a feedback mechanism - the medication shifts what 'hungry' feels like rather than eliminating it, and for some people that manifests as the nausea signal rather than the traditional stomach growl. 25 pounds in two years is meaningful progress for someone managing to stay on the medication long-term without significant side effects.

Don't even bother checking blood sugar or blood pressure anymore these days. Blood pressure meds got reduced. Coming off metformin entirely too.

Holy moly, what a transformation! Bet you're feeling incredible, congrats on the healthier road ahead.

I'm using this too, just at the smallest dose there is, purely for diabetes, actually hoping to get some appetite back honestly since this thing wiped it out entirely.

Still, seeing stories like yours of people turning things around is genuinely amazing.

Appreciate the advice, nice finding another diabetic in here! Seems like most folks I've chatted with are on it for reasons other than diabetes. Good luck to you too, and thanks for the kind words!

Type 2 for me came from carrying extra weight, so my doctor tackled both at once. Told me remission always beats just managing symptoms long term.

That's amazing! Getting bloodwork done again next month and honestly a little anxious to see the number. Blood sugar's been steady lately. So glad things have improved this much for you. What was the highest reading you ever had, if you don't mind sharing?

Felt scared too, but stalled out for eight months after losing 35 pounds last year following a type 2 diabetes diagnosis and getting my blood sugar under control. Still have roughly 45 pounds left to go. Talked it over with my doctor and agreed to try a low starting amount and see how my body responds. Within 48 hours of that first shot I was dealing with mild nausea and some stomach trouble, nothing too severe though. Had a bit of dizziness last night, being cautious about that. Still nervous overall, but more afraid of what the extra weight and elevated blood sugar could do long term. Good luck to everyone else going through this too.
