That's amazing! Getting bloodwork done again next month and honestly a little anxious to see the number. Blood sugar's been steady lately. So glad things have improved this much for you. What was the highest reading you ever had, if you don't mind sharing?
 
Felt scared too, but stalled out for eight months after losing 35 pounds last year following a type 2 diabetes diagnosis and getting my blood sugar under control. Still have roughly 45 pounds left to go. Talked it over with my doctor and agreed to try a low starting amount and see how my body responds. Within 48 hours of that first shot I was dealing with mild nausea and some stomach trouble, nothing too severe though. Had a bit of dizziness last night, being cautious about that. Still nervous overall, but more afraid of what the extra weight and elevated blood sugar could do long term. Good luck to everyone else going through this too.
 
I dont have diabetes, but I get about 3 hypoglycemia episodes a year, and its no joke. Not mild dizziness, more of a certain doom feeling on the bathroom floor. So I keep a home monitor with strips and check carefully for a while after every dose increase. No episodes at all once I began a GLP-1, and my glucose curve is the steadiest its been. Hope it continues! (BTW the test strip containers are perfect for hiding peptide vials, with a built-in desiccant.)
 
Technically Im type 2 but on insulin, and my last test showed insulin production so low its in type 1 territory. I take mounjaro 5mg plus Lantus once daily, A1C 5.7. Once insulin started I finally got under 6, and 5+ years later I am still there. My body is clearly insulin resistant and mounjaro helps a lot with that. Down 30lbs, and I feel the best Ive felt in fifteen years of dealing with this. It began as gestational and became type 2, with A1C above 10 at diagnosis. CGM, insulin and now mounjaro changed my life after many meds that never worked. My dr finally gave in on the insulin and its been steady since. Diabetic eye exam Friday. Over-50 eyes are real: trouble driving at night, reading up close, droopy lids, eyes that tire easily. I miss seeing far and near without lenses.
