Five months on semaglutide, only 6 lbs down, what am I missing?

Looking for an honest gut check from people further into this than I am. Roughly five foot seven, lost a modest amount over five months on sema, sitting at a lower weekly amount. Dosing before sleep on a fixed weeknight out of habit, keeping intake in a fairly moderate range, staying active through walking without formal workouts, sleeping close to a full night, minimal drinking. Never bothered logging protein, suspecting that's the real gap. Side effects stayed mild, a touch of queasiness right after each shot then nothing, appetite control strong through daytime but fading each night, likely where the damage happens. Prescription came through a telehealth platform with nurse practitioner oversight, no traditional doctor involved, so adjusting the dose should be simple, hasn't come up yet. Threads here suggest most people lose more by now. Undermedicated? Undoing progress after dark? Or just needing to log more? Hoping for realistic input from anyone who's lived through this stage.

Spent a handful of months on Zepbound before insurance forced a switch to Wegovy after about a month gap in between. Noticed appetite control wasn't nearly as strong on Wegovy compared to Zepbound, though side effects were also way milder on Wegovy than Zep ever was. For reference, was at 2.5 on Zep, currently sitting between .25 and .5 on Wegovy.

Time to shift focus toward calories, away from the medication itself. Stalled for months means you are not in a deficit. Logging intake and choosing lower-calorie-density foods makes more sense than adding more medication. These work best as a tool to build better habits, not as the primary driver of loss. Staying this active is genuinely impressive, plenty of people struggle with that. You might feel your eating has been solid, but a stall this long means you are taking in more than you think. Would suggest a tracking app with rigorous logging, scrutinize what you consume rather than trusting built-in suggestions, those tend to be off. Understand wanting appetite suppression back, hopefully that returns, but meanwhile tightening the numbers should help.

Pretty typical at the lower end of the dosing range. Anything under roughly 1.7 or 2.4mg mostly serves as a ramp-up period, so plenty of people don't see steady appetite control until reaching those higher amounts. That said, if hunger's running above your usual baseline, worth examining protein intake, sleep quality, and whether your dosing schedule and injection routine stay consistent. If nothing improves after moving up, your provider might also consider trying a different medication in this class entirely.

By the sixth week I'd dropped roughly 8 pounds. The single-pathway medication at its lowest dose did just enough to help me start being more deliberate about eating, including actually keeping track of intake.

Didn't notice a physical difference myself until I crossed around 30 pounds lost. Being tall with weight spread fairly evenly across my frame meant it took a while to become visible.

Over five months in now, running just under 2mg. Still get hungry and still deal with cravings, but it's far more manageable these days. Total loss sits around 45 pounds so far. I track everything I eat and stay somewhere between 1200 and 1400 calories daily, aiming for 100g protein and 25g fiber. Fiber's honestly the harder target to consistently hit. Using a tracking app to stay on top of it all.

Knowing the actual doses and current BMI would clear up most of the confusion here. Eight months on Semaglutide with zero weight loss? Three months on Retatrutide and only 3lbs gone...?
