Free GLP-1s under Medicare?

Heard some buzzing news today, folks. It looks like the current administration is attempting to get GLP-1 medications covered for those with obesity under Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurances. Regardless of your political alignment, this is a great step forward for health. I just want to thank the guy for his service. This could be life-changing for so many of us.

Pump the brakes a little. It's just a proposal at this point. The next administration has to actually make it happen. We're not there yet.

While I’m thrilled this is even on the table, I doubt it’ll actually go through. The current administration has hardly any time left, and the GOP is likely to block it just because it was a Dem idea. Still, keeping my fingers crossed... maybe a Christmas miracle?

I might have to quit my job to qualify again, LOL. All insurance plans should be required to cover these!

My husband got Ozempic covered last year because of his insurance. He has diabetes and heart issues, can you believe it? I'm hopeful but realistic. It's a step in the right direction, even if it doesn't fully pan out immediately. We have to keep advocating for access!

I've heard some people are using research chemicals because they can't afford the brand names. Be careful with that stuff; quality control is a big issue. It might be legal for 'research,' but not for personal use.
