GLP-1 and insomnia?

BeforeAndAfter

I'm scrolling through the forums and seeing lots of talk about GLP-1 meds like semaglutide, but not many people are sharing their actual experiences with sleep. Anyone here on one of these and noticing changes in their sleep patterns?

Thinking about starting, but I want to know if it's going to make my insomnia worse.

More like staying asleep. I'm usually up around 3 am every night. Not a big deal when I don't have to work, but on work days, it's a nightmare.

I haven't noticed a huge difference in my sleep since starting sema, but I've had insomnia for years. I'm curious, PinLady, do you know if GLP-1s affect sleep architecture, like REM or deep sleep?

I'm on week 6 of tirzepatide, and my sleep has been all over the place. Some nights I sleep great, others I'm up every couple of hours. I'm also an "average responder" as far as weight loss goes. I was reading on Reddit that some average responders find that the change to cleaner eating helps with sleep too.

I'm a newbie to GLP-1s, only been on sema for a few weeks. I'm waking up more often during the night, too. It's frustrating because I'm already exhausted from work.

I saw someone on another forum mention they had carpal tunnel symptoms that messed with their sleep after starting sermorelin. I wonder if the GLP-1s could be causing something similar?

I hope that helps you! I'm still waking up multiple times a night after being on sema for a month. It's so aggravating. I'm taking sermorelin as well and my sleep feels deeper, and I have more energy once I'm up, but waking up 3-4 times is not my ideal situation.

started 2022 at 230. now april 2026 at 168, goal 150. tracked weights back to 1990: 135 at enlistment, ups and downs through pregnancy, depression, military—got to 260 at delivery then zigzagged. past year or so sliding down steady. got some loose skin and hair loss but working on it all.

nothing you buy will help it. rapid weight loss causes hair loss and it's not permanent. lots of people recommend supplements but nothing's backed by science. don't waste the money.

Time to jump, for sure. Moved to 2.4 two weeks ago after six months at 1.7. Only lost weight in the first couple months at that level. Was scared of hair loss and GI issues like my family had on Wegovy, but so far I just have less appetite.
