GLP-1 kicking my butt...

Hong Kong Yanpep International
i log every dose, date, side effects, weight, and dose changes in a txt file so i can track everything and find patterns again.

food noise is way harder than hunger for me. solved it by lowering dose but dosing more often — needs vials though, pens don't work for that. 2.5 works for many but technically it's not even therapeutic. try 5mg first to see if the noise keeps going.

dropped 43% of my body weight, down the last 10 lbs now. 225 to 128 in about 20 months, slow and steady. had to restart a couple times because my body doesn't handle big jumps. still under 5mg, moving up 5-10 units a month. weight loss slowed like expected but i'm pretty sure i'll hit my goal.

Got 10mg lyophilized powder. Trying to figure out: reconstitute with 1ml back water then mix into 30ml hyaluronic acid serum? Or use raw powder? Is that even enough concentration? Can I stack it with another compound? Anyone have experience with this that could save me from wasting it?

Side effects showing up well past the initial adjustment window at a stable dose is unusual - late-onset symptoms warrant a closer look. Have you changed anything else recently, diet, other medications, supplements, that might be adding to it? The medication itself shouldn't be getting harder to tolerate after you've already been on it this long.

the peak GI side effects being in the early weeks at each new dose level is actually the useful framing - it means the worst of what you're experiencing at 5mg is almost certainly not what 5mg feels like in week 8. the people who drop out during the peak phase miss the adaptation that would have made the dose tolerable. getting through the first 3-4 weeks at the new level is the checkpoint that determines whether the dose is sustainable

Why would she take five times the normal dose, it's rough enough at just one or two doses with the side effects that come along. I've been on 1mg for a year now and it's wrecked my digestion so badly my endocrinologist is talking about dropping me back to 0.5mg.

Two rounds of 5mg down and both were brutal, fine the next day but then the following 48 hours I could barely drag myself out of bed. Planning to push through the full month, but can't keep this up much longer than that.

Absolutely, absolutely. Sat at 2.5 for a good stretch of months, bumped to 5 then 7.5, but honestly those higher doses just left me exhausted and backed up. 2.5 turned out to be my sweet spot personally!

Really depends on the doctor. Some are strict about it, mine isn't at all. He's always left it up to me whether to raise the dose for weight loss. Currently at 15mg, though I actually had non-diabetic glucose readings back at 5mg, even at 2.5mg honestly.

Seven months at 2.5, then bumped to 5 for two weeks, which was a mistake. Otherwise really well controlled with big weight loss and muscle gain. A1C dropped from 9.3 to 5.1, and I've gone from 178 down to 130 currently.

This isn't my first attempt with a GLP-1, and yes it definitely kills the food chatter, but the side effects are brutal. And my dose is still fairly modest! Heartburn and reflux are unbearable. Constipation is off the charts. Can't eat anything without feeling stuffed even when I'm not, which then makes me want to throw up. Feels like there's a brick lodged in my throat constantly. Bloated nonstop. Hate every bit of it lol. Seriously considering just quitting. Doesn't feel worth the tradeoff, unhappy with life overall despite the modest weight loss.

Weirdly enough, 0.5mg is my personal nemesis. All told, thrown up three separate times and gagged badly enough that I needed a bin or the bathroom nearby more than ten separate times. Zero problems at 0.25, 0.75, 1, 1.7, or 2.4mg. But that 0.5 amount wrecked me every time. Went back on it after a thirteen-month break for an unrelated medical reason, and once again the 0.5mg is making me want to quit and drop back to 0.25 permanently.
