i have iih — extra spinal fluid pressure in my head. this med gave me two days of relief after the first shot, then my body adapted. hoping the next dose gives me longer before it levels off again.

just hit my third 1mg dose and side effects are intense. sulfur burps, mild diarrhea, bloating. at 0.25mg and 0.5mg i had zero issues—just a bit of constipation. lost 8kg in 8 weeks but felt sick for the first 3 days after each shot. thinking about dropping to 0.75mg by counting clicks. doc won't budge on using it off-label though.

Hey everyone! I'm usually just lurking, but I wanted to share my experience. I started my GLP-1 journey on February 9th!

I'm a 30 year old female, almost 31!

Height: 5' 5''

Starting Weight: 196.4lbs || Current Weight: 186.2lbs || Goal Weight: Around 150lbs

So, I've dropped 10.2lbs in about 5 weeks!

I also have PCOS, which I know can make things a bit trickier.

I was on 2.5mg for a month, and I bumped up to 5mg on March 2nd. I just took my second 5mg dose this week.

My main side effects have been dry mouth and, ugh, constipation. The constipation is the WORST. I've been using magnesium citrate, but it doesn't seem to be cutting it. Does anyone have any other recommendations? I’m thinking about trying psyllium husk.

I know everyone's different, but I was hoping to see a bit more weight loss by this point. I'm not upset, just impatient. I'm really excited to get to the point where I can see a big difference, and everyone else can too! Trying to stay positive and trust the process.

I love reading about everyone's journeys and experiences, so I'd appreciate any advice or just general thoughts!

Hello! How much water are you drinking everyday? You should aim for around 3 liters of just water, not including other drinks.

Are you getting enough fiber? Green vegetables and zucchini-like vegetables are very helpful.

In my country we use apricots and figs, either fresh or dried, for this. In the morning have a pre/probiotic drink with lots of water and wait 30 minutes, then eat 2-3 apricots or figs and drink more water before having breakfast.

Olive oil with breakfast can also help. You could eat tomatoes and cucumbers with olive oil - so delicious and good for you. Or 5-6 olives.

I don't know about medicines, but try these suggestions first if you can. Good luck!

I've always had problems with constipation. I take a stool softener every day and eat two prunes with my breakfast. As long as I do that regularly, things keep moving! But if I forget the prunes, I end up needing something stronger like dulcolax or miralax.

I've tried EVERYTHING! Here's what's finally working: 6 prunes daily. A teaspoon of Metamucil in sugar-free Gatorade daily. A tablespoon of chia seeds in Greek yogurt daily. Fiber gummies daily. A teaspoon of MiraLAX 3 or 4 times a week. And at least 60oz of water. Good luck!

started 2.5mg march 13, felt nothing so upped it. on 5mg now, third dose tomorrow. better suppression than 2.5 but only lost 1kg so far. some heartburn and gas from eating poorly. appetite's better but could be stronger.

I've been dealing with constipation for years, and Milk of Magnesia every night before bed has always worked for me. Maybe try that? And definitely drink lots of water!

Hey @Gut_Fam, we started on the same day! I agree with everyone about hydration and fiber. I take metamucil every day, but the biggest difference was when I started drinking way more water. I was drinking around 10 cups a day, but now I'm at least 15 (like 3.5 liters) and things are moving much better.

When I increased from 2.5 mg to 5 mg, I started getting dry mouth too. I've been on 5 mg ever since. I've been on this journey for two years now and I'm almost at my goal weight. During a recent dental appointment, they noticed some early signs of cavities. My dentist said GLP-1 meds can change the bacteria in your mouth, especially if you have dry mouth. I would suggest drinking extra water and getting your teeth cleaned every three months to prevent dental problems.

I saw someone mention Metamucil. Just a warning: be CAREFUL how you take it! Don't ever put the dry powder in your mouth and then try to swallow it with a little water. It can swell up and create a choking hazard in your throat. It needs a LOT of water to work properly!

If you're still really struggling, maybe ask your doctor about digestive enzymes and probiotics. They can sometimes help with these kinds of side effects.
