GLP-1 & No Results?!

I think everyone's different. I shed about 30lbs in 2 months and I felt I needed to stop because I looked sick.

That's a good reminder that these meds aren't a miracle cure and can have side effects. It is important to also have routine checkups.

Trying semaglutide via shot starting tonight. Trial period only and can't swing it past month one so need a backup plan. Not huge but perimenopause keeps fat on my belly no matter cardio or cuts. Asking experts now: 1) See lots of pill GLP ads, same results as shots? 2) Safe trying other versions through places or should I see a doc first? Thanks!

From what I read online and what people say anecdotally when you take a break from glp-1 and restart it takes higher doses to kick in. You had Wegovy working so keep titrating on the tirzepatide. Three weeks is still early, especially at ten mg. Lots of room to go up.

The appetite part is what most people notice first, but the metabolic stuff underneath is really doing the heavy lifting. Still too early to fully understand how the dosing schedule affects the deeper chemistry, but the weekly versus daily experiments are super useful data.

on 5mg tirz for about a year now. dropped 20 lbs, hit a wall after a couple months tbh. just at that weird line between overweight and obese. been dealing with life stuff but trying to get meals back on track. slow and steady is the move.

The dose threshold question is practical: no results at current dose means staying is not a strategy - therapeutic level is the target. If it is working at a smaller dose, there is no urgency to escalate.

No results at the starting dose in the first 4-8 weeks is common - receptor sensitivity varies and most people don't see meaningful suppression until 0.5mg or higher.

No results in the first few weeks usually comes down to still being at loading dose, eating back the deficit without realizing it, or an individual tolerance issue. The first two are much more common than the third. What dose are you on?

Three months at therapeutic dose with no movement despite appetite suppression is the pattern worth discussing with a prescriber - thyroid panels are usually the first stop.
