GLP-1 progress reports!

194 to 179 in 2.5 months at 5mg is good movement. The A1C question matters a lot when you're on it for metabolic reasons - what did it start at and has it moved? The nausea in the OP settling down at 9 months is a reassuring timeline for someone 2.5 months in.

Type 1 with A1C from 8.9 to 6.5 and 60 lbs in 6 months on Tirz is a remarkable clinical result. The natural energy side effect is the one people don't predict going in. Moving to Reta after that kind of foundation is an interesting experiment - what's driving the switch after results that strong on Tirz?

6 months and 8 lbs with A1C improved is the metabolic win that matters independently from the weight side. 1.0mg for 10 weeks and about to increase is where the weight response tends to pick up for most people - the 1mg to 2mg jump is often when the scale numbers start moving more consistently. What was the A1C change like?

Felt the exact same way, on this myself starting back in December. Was hesitant for a while until I hit a wall trying to bring my A1C down further. Zero regrets since.

Beyond the weight loss, I've picked up a ton of other health wins too.

Started at the end of February this year. Diabetes is perfectly controlled now, A1C sits at 5.4, insulin resistance is gone, I've been able to come off insulin entirely, inflammation throughout my body has cleared, snoring's stopped, sleep's way better, energy's through the roof, and having the food noise gone is just wonderful.

Not sure honestly. Eight months in and things are still rough for you? That doesn't sound quite right. Wonder if a different option in this drug class might suit you better? My wife's cycled through a couple herself, seems like she handles tirzepatide best for shedding pounds. My provider was open to any of the options really. Ended up picking Ozempic since it edges out slightly for A1c control.

Did your symptoms ever settle down once you hit 0.5?

Coming up on eleven weeks now. Pushed my way up to the second-lowest step and dropping back down a notch tomorrow until my appointment in September, where I plan to ask about coming off entirely. Nausea hasn't let up and it's become unmanageable. Cutting fat, eating smaller portions, stopping before full, skipping anything spicy. Everyone here suggests anti-nausea medication, no interest there. Struggling to get enough fluids in, gagging on my own pills, and food aversions are shrinking what I'll actually eat. On this specifically for type 2 diabetes. Hoping now that metformin's finally taking hold, I can escape this misery! What worked for weight before was intermittent fasting combined with low carb since neither ever triggered my hunger. Do whatever's right for your own situation!
