I'm not even using it for weight loss anymore. I lost about 55 pounds and I'm happy where I'm at. I'm still on it because it's helping my cholesterol and hopefully extending my life to see my family grow.
I'm in my 50s. When I was 42, I was in great shape but had a heart attack. My arteries were severely blocked. I got stents, then a bypass at 47. It's all thanks to genetics on my dad's side.
Even with meds and a strict diet, my LDL was always high, my HDL was low, and my triglycerides were insane. We're talking consistently in the 500-1100 range. If I even looked at sugar, it would spike. Strict dieting only got me down to 500. I tried every med under the sun. My blood was basically sludge. I tracked every single calorie!
Then a doctor added metformin, which helped a little. Then I went to a compounding pharmacy and got on a GLP-1.
Now my cholesterol is good, my LDL is low, and my triglycerides are almost normal.
I'm convinced my arteries are actually healing. I'm going to be around for my family. In 2022, I seriously thought I was going to die. I kept getting this feeling to get my affairs in order. That feeling, plus chest pains, got me to the cardiologist who saved my life.
Now that feeling is gone. I almost miss it, lol. Insurance doesn't cover it, so I'm going the grey market route. I have a stockpile to last me a couple of years. My plan is to stay on it until generics become available.
