GLP-1s and IBS - anyone else?

I think it matters whether you lean toward constipation or diarrhea. I'm prone to diarrhea, so I handle Ozempic okay as long as I don't eat too much junk food.

I've got IBS-D, and Ozempic stopped it completely. Usually, I had to run to the bathroom in the mornings, but now things are different. Though, now I'm dealing with constipation since starting Seroquel - haven't gone in almost a week and had to use an enema! Now I go every few days and need stool softeners, which is the opposite of what I'm used to! Everyone's different, but it might be worth a try.

I started three days ago. No more loose stools, no gas, felt nauseous yesterday, but I'm okay today. My gut needed a break.

I haven't found it much worse, now that I'm used to it. Same low-level cramps that I've had for ages, comes and goes. I still get constipation and diarrhea and normal movements. Same as before. It's maybe even a little better since I've lost like 20% of my weight.

Glad to hear it's helping you! The nausea can be rough, but hopefully, it'll pass quickly. I found that sipping ginger ale helped.

Wow, so many people saying it IMPROVED their IBS... that's wild. I'm so afraid of making things worse. Thanks for sharing your experiences, everyone!

It's interesting how these meds affect people differently. My friend had to stop because of severe constipation. I'm managing okay, but I've been extra careful about staying hydrated. I have to pee all the time!

The frequent urination might be related to better blood sugar control initially, if that's part of why you're on it. But definitely keep an eye on it.

Been on it about 9 months now and honestly I'm just running on the med at this point. Went through some heavy stuff right after starting so my energy never bounced back. But before this, I spent 15 years thinking about food, weight, body—every single day. Was mentally exhausted. Now I'm not stressed about it all and that alone feels like I can finally breathe.
