Hitting Goals!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
247 to 180 with A1C still needing work means the metabolic gains are still in progress - maintenance dose making sense until that marker lands.

You look incredible - what a shift! What did your A1C do over this period? I saw big movement in mine going from 7.2 to 5.8 in the first 8 months, the weight and blood sugar changes track together pretty closely.

The A1C borderline and cholesterol targets are the NSVs that matter most for long-term health outcomes - hitting those alongside the weight milestone is the full picture. The path off statins when cholesterol responds is a real quality-of-life upgrade.

50 lbs and getting the A1C lower are both very achievable goals. 247 to 180 in the OP is exactly the kind of result you're aiming for. Tirz is a solid starting choice - what's the plan for getting started?

the doctor-is-happy framing alongside a slower scale pace is worth trusting more than the community averages - A1C improvement and cardiovascular markers respond to the medication before the scale fully reflects what the body is doing. a half pound a week sustained over 2 months is 4 lbs of real progress, which compounds across a year into a meaningful total

Congrats on all the effort put into health and reaching this smaller size.

Keep pushing purely for personal reasons. That's really all that counts. This is absolutely doable!

Thank you! Yeah, this lines up exactly with my original target. Had actually planned to continue longer but things settled here instead, and honestly couldn't be happier with that outcome!

My doctor's been great letting me increase whenever I've wanted. She does flag though that it's technically prescribed for T2D, and insurance could push back eventually. Now that I'm sitting in a normal weight range, not sure she'd sign off on another bump, but I'm two pounds from goal with great A1C numbers, so genuinely fine landing right where I already am.

Congrats!! Focusing on non-scale wins is exactly the right call, honestly. Gratitude really does shift things mentally, and the joy genuinely lives in the journey itself. Might sound cheesy, but that's genuinely been my experience.

Congratulations.

You look amazing.!

Went a little wild buying new clothes and boots myself after dropping weight too.

Type 2 with a few other health complications here. Managed to cycle down from 10mg (the max amount) to 5mg to slow further weight loss. Held at 5mg for ten months but hunger and mental chatter came roaring back eventually. Fought through it for three months before finally caving in June and climbing back to 7.5mg. Going okay so far.

Honestly worried less about gaining weight than about my A1C spiking again. My doctors would actually be relieved if I gained 10 lbs.

Underwent a procedure late June, so physical activity's paused, hoping to resume by month's end.

Congratulations again. Keep up the great work.

Enjoy that shopping spree, you've earned it!

Middle-aged guy here. Five weeks in and just moved up to my first higher dose. Planning a month at that level, then another month up from there. Checking labs afterward before the next doctor visit. Allow myself a small cheat on weekends but keep it light given how unpleasant overdoing it or eating late gets. Would be thrilled to drop another ten pounds by fall. Aiming to land somewhere in the mid 170s.

Hi, thanks for sharing your journey. It's genuinely hard staying off the scale, but maybe you've got a point, redirecting focus elsewhere might help. Really sorry about your accident, glad to hear you're nearly back to your prior weight though. Question, during those eight months, what kind of loss and A1c changes did you see?
