How long til you met your goals?

I'm curious about the durations of weight loss journeys around here. What works in traditional fitness circles seems different from what I see happening with GLP-1s. So, let's compare notes.

Typical fitness advice (roughly):
* 0.5-1% of body weight lost per week
* 10% total body weight loss per phase
* 10-12 week phases

I'm aiming higher with GLP-1 assistance:
* Target: 1.8% body weight per week (about 0.4 lbs/day)
* Goal: 15% body weight per phase
* Phase length: 14-18 weeks

Right now, I'm close to my targets, even after an 11-day break from training. I've dropped 8% of my body weight in 46 days (0.35 lbs/day). No slowdown yet, but I'm approaching the fatigue point. Hoping the Reta keeps me going strong.

What have you all experienced?

I'm a 27 year old man from up north.

Used to be in great shape, but a desk job led to weight gain, peaking at 225 pounds.

Started Contrave around spring of 2024 through a private clinic. I was around 215 and technically obese. I dropped about 15 pounds over about 12 weeks, but side effects were awful, so I stopped.

Then, I found Mounjaro in July. Loved it instantly. It got rid of my constant cravings.

Even here, it was too expensive at $400 a month, especially since my girlfriend started two months later. I did some research and found alternative sources around August 2024. I had already lost 12 pounds by then.

Switched to Reta in November and have been on it since (5 mg/week). Now at my goal weight, which is about 155 pounds, with 17% body fat. Now I'm trying to build muscle.

So, 60 pounds lost in about 11 months, all while on a GLP-1.

It has helped me get my life on track. My finances and relationships and my overall well being have improved since starting.

My gf dropped about 50 pounds in 8 months on Tirz and has about 20 to go. She's experienced the same benefits.

Could we have done it without meds? Sure, but I see it as a tool. Why not use it if it helps and doesn't have too many drawbacks? It lets you focus on other areas of life for the cost of some side effects and money.

I've lost over 100 pounds on tirz in about 15 months. The first nine months were faster. The next three were slower because I quit smoking. The last three months have been very slow, but I only have 20 pounds left to lose, so it makes sense.

I agree. It's about balancing risk and reward. GLP-1s seem low risk, high reward. I've lost weight on my own before, but I hit a limit. Pushing further would pull energy and focus from the rest of my life. Not worth it.

I've been on tirzepatide for 28 weeks.
I've lost 49 pounds, or about 27% of my body weight.
That's an average of 1% body weight loss per week.
I'm mostly sedentary and don't count calories anymore.
I have about 24 pounds to go until I reach my goal weight.

Thanks for sharing, everyone! Would you say GLP-1s are your longest or largest cuts ever? Have you come close to this before?

Coming from my background, these extended cuts are wild to me. I've done long cuts in my 20s, but it's harder now. My biggest cut was in my early 20s, from 210 to 162 pounds, over maybe 4-6 months. It's been so long, I don't remember exactly, haha.

I'm hoping to keep this to 16 weeks, which is probably conservative. I'd rather be cautious, so I can maintain and bulk before cutting again in winter/spring. I'll re-evaluate when I get there.

As of today, day 51, I'm down 16.6 pounds, or about 0.33 pounds a day.

I went from 328 lbs to 278 lbs, starting in October 2024. That's about 0.24 lbs/day on 5mg of Tirzepatide. I've been stuck at this weight for about six weeks now.

From my past diet attempts, I knew a plateau was coming around this weight, so I added 2mg of Reta, but will soon switch to Survodutide.

I also did an 8 week run of Tesa/IPA but I only have two weeks left. It's been great and terrible at the same time. Great, because it's helped me sleep better and feel younger. Terrible, because it's started to make me crave more food, so I've been binge eating, hence the reason for adding Reta until I can get Surv.

The other downside is that after the first month, I get itchy mosquito bite-like bumps at the injection site that last about a week.

I'm pushing through, though. I can see and feel my body getting stronger and leaner.

Just curious, where are you compared to your goal now, one month later? I'm thinking about stacking to finish off the last 20 pounds, but I'm also trying to be patient. 😵‍💫😉

Started October 2024 at 312 pounds on 2.5mg/ml of a GLP-1, upped to 5.0mg in November.
Stopped 7.5mg for a colonoscopy mid-December.
Restarted on boxed Mounjaro at 7.5mg right after Christmas, with a BMI of around 41.5
Added Methylene blue in January, up to about 10mg.
February, I added something else at 10mg.
Got a box of 12.5mg in mid-April.
As of my last day of employment in late April, still had a spare box of 12.5mg sitting in the fridge.
I'm pretty out of shape, about 90 days from age 67, wear a CGM, and take multiple type 2 diabetes meds.
Daily blood sugar is usually mid to upper 90s, which is a huge improvement.
Lost about 1 pound of muscle, 46.6 pounds total, and almost 10% body fat. Also dropped the visceral fat level.
About a 15% body weight reduction in 6 months or so.
Hooked on jerky: aiming for 1g/kg protein most days.
I plan to stack Reta, likely microdosed, relative to the standard weekly injection.

Started in mid April 2024 at 352 pounds. Now I'm down to 195 lbs. Was on 13 mg of Tirz and stopped for about 5 weeks because of dizziness, and I was eating too many calories, like 1800 a day. Restarted about 3 weeks ago and reduced calories to 1200-1500 a day.

From May 30th, 2024, to today, I've lost 64 pounds, with around 45 of that gone by November 2024. My goal is only 5 pounds away. I've been at 15mg of Tz since December 2024. I also added something else at a low dose in early April 2025. I'm going to maintenance very soon, and will switch to a different peptide at that time.

I lost 70 pounds, starting around Labor Day 2023. Now I'm in maintenance and trying to dial in the perfect approach. 12 mg Tirz twice a month seems to be too much, I'm still losing weight. I used a compounded product for the first three months, then went through a few different gray market vendors after that. I am over 55 and have all the hair and skin issues which are common with GLP-1s, but it's been worth it.

I am down roughly 82 pounds in 35 weeks. That's about a 34% reduction in my weight. My weight loss has been very gradual without any plateaus, but it's recently slowed down in the last several weeks. I'm only 10 pounds away from my goal! I have been stacking Tirz and Reta, but the amounts have changed over time. Right now, I'm using 5mg of Tirz and 12mg of Reta, split into 4 doses during the week. I plan to stick with this until I reach maintenance. I'm not too sure what maintenance will look like, so I'll probably experiment for a while until I find something that works!

That's amazing progress! Congrats on all the work to get there. When did you start seeing real results, like around month 4?
