I'm 5'4".

I am so appreciative of this forum. I read it every day, and it's been about a year now. There's something so unique about knowing other folks are battling weight issues like I have.

Yesterday, I posted my InBody scan results, and someone pointed out that it didn't fit the group's guidelines. I am truly sorry if I upset anyone.

I don't have a photo from when I was at my highest weight, but here's one from 2 months after when I had already dropped about 35 pounds.

People have told me I should be on a bodybuilding forum, but I'm not interested in that kind of community. You'll see lots of me at the gym because I am incredibly proud of what I've accomplished. I'm just a normal person, working hard and doing the same things as everyone else... trying to move a bit more and make healthier choices. I lift weights frequently and jog a few times a week. My job keeps me on call 24/7, so I don't get enough sleep, plus I sit at a desk all day. But I make time for myself, and my husband is incredibly supportive, even though he's not on the same path.

I started at 2.5 for a month, then 5 for 3 months, then 7.5 for almost a year, and now I'm at 10mg. I take my shots every 4 to 7 days, depending on the week. I upped my dose as winter approached because of RA pain and inflammation.

I lost the bulk of the weight with pretty much zero exercise, and once I was at my goal, I started lifting weights and focusing on body recomposition.

I have some loose skin, eat around 2,100 calories daily to maintain, and I'm so proud of my determination. At 38, I'm living the happiest, healthiest life I could ever dream of.

I hope you're happy with who you are and where you're going, no matter what your goal is or how you plan to get there. That's the best thing you can give yourself.

I can't imagine my stomach ever being able to drop that much weight (like your starting point). I've been heavy my entire life so it feels impossible!

Major congrats on the loss. You're an inspiration, for sure!

I lost all of my weight with minimal exercise and once I hit my goal I began lifting heavy and working on my body composition.

This is fantastic, and I hope it motivates people. You can drop weight on weight-loss meds simply by improving your eating habits, and your body isn't a fixed entity after that.

I'm curious because you mentioned increasing your dosage as winter approached due to your RA. I've been taking weight-loss meds since March '24 and have dropped 162 lbs, reaching my goal weight of 116. However, as I reduce my dosage, I've noticed a severe RA flare-up, which is likely also due to the cold weather.

I'm currently at 7.5mg, but at 10mg and 12.5mg, I had no RA pain, flare-ups, or migraines! Now, the migraines have come back too. Higher doses seem to eliminate both migraines and RA flares. My doctor keeps insisting I can't stay on this forever, mentioning concerns about long-term effects. I'm a 69-year-old female. What about the LONG-term effects of high blood pressure and inflammation? I don't need blood pressure meds anymore, and my inflammation levels are normal, so why do I have to stop? Why can't I stay at 10mg, maybe every other week?

This is amazing progress. I'm thrilled for you. Not everyone can get the type of results you got. Stay healthy and happy. And congrats again! I'm glad your husband is so supportive.

I'm glad you're also having success in the gym! It really is amazing to witness the changes in your body as you get stronger. Keep up the fantastic work!

I saw someone mention that they had excess skin set off a body pat-down at the airport! I didn't even know that was a thing! Has anyone else experienced that?

It’s a conversation worth having with your doctor, Just_Goals, about the potential benefits outweighing the still-unknown risks. Quality of life matters. Maybe a lower maintenance dose, as you suggested, could be a compromise.

Honestly looks like you're doing great. You must feel fantastic with that tan and the progress. How's the energy level?
