Mental boost on GLP-1s? Anyone?

Okay, so I've only been taking a tiny dose (0.25mg) for about a week, and I'm due for my next dose tomorrow. But honestly, I feel like my head is so much clearer. My anxiety seems lower, and I'm not constantly battling this feeling of impending doom. Is anyone else experiencing something similar this early on, or am I imagining things?

You're definitely not alone! GLP-1 receptors are all over your brain, including the parts that handle mood and pleasure. There's research starting up to study semaglutide for depression because a lot of people are reporting the same thing.

Possible reasons:

- Less 'food noise' frees up your mental energy without you even realizing it.
- GLP-1 medications might change how dopamine and serotonin work, which directly affects your mood.
- Breaking the cycle of bingeing, feeling guilty, and restricting food can have huge mental benefits.
- Even early on, feeling like you're in control of something that felt uncontrollable can be a big relief.

Try to use this time to create good habits. Exercise, good sleep, spending time with others – all the things that improve mental health on their own. That way, even if the immediate brain effects fade, you'll have a solid base.

I get anxious a lot, so I'm curious to see what other people say. I've only been on semaglutide for like, 3 weeks.

Yeah, I felt it for the first month or two, but not so much lately. I've had a seriously stressful month with way too much going on, my sleep has been awful, and I've been slacking on my meditation. So, there are some obvious reasons why I'm not feeling great. I'm trying to get back on track now, so we'll see what happens.

I'm down about 30lbs. I can't see a change in myself, but people say I look amazing. It's hard to believe them though.
I feel that! I've dropped about 45 pounds and sometimes I still grab clothes that are way too big for me because I don't think I'll fit into the right size.

Hey Tone_Life, that's a really good point about sleep and mindfulness. I've been so focused on the meds, I haven't been keeping up with my other healthy habits. Need to refocus!

started 1.5, week 2-3 bumped to 2, week 4 going to 3. down 4kg so far but mild headaches sometimes. eating clean, no sugar, tons of water. not sure what's causing them.

happened to me when i hit my therapeutic dose. had mild side effects and dropped like 40 pounds before maxing out. nausea is usually from slow digestion and needing to burp or fart. also check if you've got acid reflux going on.
