Mounjaro: Still working after stopping?

You look fantastic, congratulations! How are you managing to keep the pounds off? Was it difficult at any point after you discontinued the medication?
I’m curious to hear about your experience. I am thinking about starting it to get my weight under control but I am worried about becoming too dependent on it. I wouldn’t want to use it forever or get discouraged.

Honestly, it's been mostly about being mindful of what I eat and moving my body. I try to get some form of exercise most days, even if it's just a walk. The biggest challenge was the first few weeks after stopping, I definitely felt hungrier, but I just tried to power through it. Been counting calories loosely.

For those considering these medications for diabetes management, remember that while they can be very effective in lowering A1C levels, some individuals may need to continue them long-term to maintain those levels. It's not necessarily a "cure", but more of a management tool.

That's a valid concern and you should definitely discuss that with your doctor.

I'm on a low dose right now and hoping to come off it eventually. I've been keeping a food diary to get a better handle on my calorie needs. Hopefully that will help when the time comes to stop completely. I've heard tapering slowly is key.

I've heard some people find success with intermittent fasting after coming off these meds. Has anyone tried that to keep the weight off?

I do intermittent fasting sometimes (20:00 until 12:00 next day, sometimes longer). Helps with the cravings, but its not for everyone.

Writing this three hours after magnesium citrate. Yeah it takes extra time in my case. Tastes pleasant - reminds me of fresh OJ flavor. Works the same way. Still processing that first movement though. Maybe we could sticky this post so folks understand?

Thanks! Would love a proper before/after but mine isn't great. It shows the transformation though from when I began in December. Currently at my goal weight, actually slimmer than I'd planned. Hoping to gain like 5-10 back honestly.
