Mounjaro's done for me. Now what?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Done cycles of sema for three years now, usually two to five month stretches, never had problems. Stayed under point 66 ml mostly at point 25 to point 5. Seems like everyone is different. Looking into peptides now since I gained some back but dealing with hormone stuff.

food triggers used to wreck me—hives, anaphylaxis, the works. even mild reactions would leave bumps on my neck for weeks. plus scalp stuff that hurt. since starting this med and staying careful, barely had a flare. one slip-up triggered it once but that's it.

244 to 162 in 11 months is substantial - the habits matter more in maintenance than they did during loss.

244.5 to 161.7 in 11 months is a substantial result, but the realization that looking different doesn't automatically fix the internal part is one of the more honest moments this process produces. What comes after the number is often where the real work starts.

20 years of PCOS and insulin resistance before reaching for Mounjaro is the delayed version of a story a lot of people here have. 244.5 to 161.7 in 11 months for the OP is the result of actually using the tool that works for the specific hormonal picture. The decision to finally try it after years of managing without is usually something that clicks rather than something people ease into. What made the difference this time?

The friend disapproval situation is easier when the results are this visible - 11 kg of real health improvement makes the calculus pretty clear. The decisions you make about your health aren't subject to his approval.

Sugars normalized and enough weight loss that the kids noticed before you did is the double outcome that makes Mounjaro's mechanism different from pure weight loss drugs. The OP at 244.5 to 161.7 in 11 months is a remarkable result. What's the current plan - maintenance dose or thinking about coming off it?

65 lbs and the teenagers haven't said a word is the classic teenager response - they're probably noticing and just not saying it. The partner dynamics around commenting on weight loss progress during active loss is such a specific and often complicated thing. What's the plan from here on Mounjaro?

the relationship clarity that comes after the physical change is one of the less-discussed downstream effects - the standards that get updated alongside the body image update are real, and the tolerance for dynamics that did not serve you before getting lower is a documented pattern. the first months after reaching goal with a clear head about what you want is one of the more useful relationship windows

Appreciate you sharing that! Feels like everything I come across online is either wild success stories or total disasters. That gallbladder situation sounds rough though... mind explaining what led to it? Anything specific I should watch for?

Bottom line, I just want health and feeling good, that's the whole goal. Genuinely anxious about potential side effects... but it honestly helps a lot to hear it worked out for someone who was in a similar spot to where I am now.

Totally relate! Had outfits I genuinely thought looked great on me, only to see photos later and realize otherwise! Embracing whatever body you're in matters, and hitting the weight room is worthwhile at any stage of life :)

Made the personal call to keep this journey between myself and my partner, no wider sharing, and he ended up starting the same medication once he witnessed all the improvements to my overall wellbeing, not just the pounds lost.

Didn't have a huge amount to shed but still dropped 23% of my body weight... and then came the skeptical friends who felt entitled to question every single kilo, offering their unwanted and largely uninformed takes! Truth is, I've never eaten this cleanly or with this much intention in my life, and that includes three decades of strength training, some of it professionally. All that negativity actually pushed me toward getting a body composition scan done, mainly to confirm I wasn't losing excessive muscle. The fat percentage reading itself was just extra information out of curiosity. Good news, and enough to quiet the uninformed, rigid critics
