Went through the exact same thing! Here's what came out of it, pulled from another thread I posted in:
'Yes! Just got back from mine. Just like I suspected, my body scan reading looks way off. Haven't had time to dig through it fully yet, but here's the high-level breakdown.
First scan method:
Body fat: 25.1 percent
Weight: 204.5 lbs
Muscle mass: 87.7 lbs
Fat mass: 51.5 lbs
Estimated resting burn: 2244, this is the number that made me think something's off, way too high given I track everything I eat and my actual maintenance intake sits closer to 2300 for my activity level, definitely not what my body burns at rest alone.
Second scan method:
Body fat: 30.1 percent
Weight: 205.03 lbs
Muscle mass: 75.22 lbs
Fat mass: 62.61 lbs
Estimated resting burn: 1677, this lines up far better with what I actually eat.
So the first method overstated my muscle and understated my fat. Doesn't bother me too much honestly, the part I actually find concerning is how far off that resting burn number was. Nobody should be building a diet plan around that figure. Thankfully didn't go that route, though following it blindly would've packed serious weight onto me instead, ha.'
Edit: formatting got a bit mangled copying this over.
