Yes, this resonates hard. Got on Mounjaro purely hoping to lose maybe two dozen pounds or a bit more and ended up losing 40 instead. Would've absolutely quit and gone back to overeating without eight years of surgical restriction behind me already, ha. Adjusted to it by now, honestly there's no difference eating half a sandwich versus a whole one for me since overeating simply hasn't been physically possible these past several years, like I mentioned. Hard to offer real advice, it's basically like removing my own capacity for the addiction entirely, which made acceptance a lot smoother. Across those eight years my relationship with alcohol went from total abstainer while heavier, to full-blown alcoholic, then completely sober, and now down to just an occasional drink a handful of times a year. Had a lot to work through once food stopped being an escape hatch for comfort. No real advice to offer, just know overeating only ever provides temporary relief. It never actually builds toward genuine happiness.
