8 months ago I was pushing 350. Diabetes hit bad, lost like 35 pounds real quick, and doc gave me the news January 11th. Blood sugar was sky high, over 300. A1C was 11.
Today, June 21st, I'm down to 220. Here's my thoughts on Mounjaro.
Today, June 21st, I'm down to 220. Here's my thoughts on Mounjaro.
- My sleep apnea was terrible. Two weeks in, I was sleeping solid all night. Amazing.
- I'd say Mounjaro helped with maybe 15% of the weight loss. Diet and exercise are key.
- I wanted to go slow, so I've been on 5mg for 3 months now, first 3 months were 2.5mg. No rush to go higher. This stuff is strong; go slow.
- I don't drink, eat junk, or mix bad foods. If I do, I'm super sick. Watch what you eat, especially mixing dairy like ice cream with meat.
- Mental side is both good and bad. Suppression, motivation, energy are great. But it can mess with my emotions. Gotta manage it.
- It's true what they say, "Once you focus on yourself, people get mad." People don't like your success and judge you. They'd rather see you fail. Lost my best friend because of jealousy. So, I really lost 390 pounds, counting him and his negativity. Over 20 years of friendship, gone.
- This isn't easy. No quick fix. Gotta put in the work for results.
- I only weigh myself once a month or at the doc. Daily weighing messed with me and sent me back to bad habits.
- Finally, I found good people in this forum and on TikTok who get it. Social media helps with motivation.
